My Final Four Prediction

Friday, April 4th, 2008 |

And yo know I’m gonna be right Snitchesssssss………….

Ok so what if my bracket was torn up two weeks when I predicted that Memphis was gonna lose to Mississippi State in the second round and what ya know they go to the Final Four. Go figure. Then I also predicted that Butler would beat Tennessee. How bout Georgetown coming together as a team and holding on to a 17-point lead against a Davidson team we knew nothing about. NOT!!!!!! Little did we know that Davidson has a special player in young Stephen Curry. Son of NBA sharpshooter Dell Curry, Stephen showed he had a real knack for getting to the hole. All the while being able to be a marksmen from NBA range. Being a 90% free throw shooter is like stealing points for him. On his way to 40 points against Gonzaga, 30 against Georgetown, 35 on Wisconsin, and another 25 against Kansas. Now everyone is talking about his future in the NBA. What I do have still is UCLA winning the whole thing. I only have two of the Final Four right ( North Carolina). Go figure , me this bad……………. it hurts: (more…)

The regional semi’s and finals provided few stellar games but many stellar performances. For the first time ever all number 1 seeds made it through their respective brackets. Memphis may have been the most impressive by trouncing the Michigan State Spartans and Texas Longhorns.  Neither game was close. Against the Spartans the lead swelled to as much 30 before taking their foot off the gas to win by 19. Against the Longhorns DJ Augustine could not get himself going or his teammates going. With the inside presence of Joey Dorsey and Robert Dozier along with super freshman Derrick Rose proved to be too much in a 82-64 win. (more…)

Classic Performace-TarHeels 83 Louisville 73!!!

Saturday, March 29th, 2008 |

North Carolina's Tyler Hansbrough (50) dunks over Louisville's David Padgett, left, during the second half of the NCAA East Regional final basketball game, Saturday, March 29, 2008, in Charlotte, N.C.

I wrote and article not too long ago and said that this guy Hansbrough was “OVERATED HYPE” after watching the performance that this young man Hansbrough put on ranks up there with Christian Latiner,Ed Pickney,Larry Johnson.  Hansbrough I never thought he could show up and play with so much heart and put this team on his back and take them to a final four.  Hansbrough deserves to have his number retired no doubt about it. Breakin down the East Region

The Sweet Sixteen is here. Who will move on. I take time out to break down the regions. First up the East.

North Carolina comes into the round of sixteen flying. Scoring over 100 points in wins over Mount Saint Mary’s and Arkansas. Now neither of those two teams play defense the way Washington State does. Led by Derrick Low the Cougars make you play dirty and have to grind it out to win. Now for the Cougars who will handle tyler Hansborough and Wayne Ellington. Can Low stay out of foul trouble and guard Ty Lawson? Will Lawson be able to push the tempo and keep this locomotive running out or should I say in control?

Louisville comes into this game with Tennessee hitting on all cylinders as well. The Cardinals are playing tenacious defense and scoring relatively easy when they turn you over with their press. Chris Lofton will need to shoot the ball better and more often for the Vols to stay in this game. Can newly inserted J.P. Prince be able to handle the press of Louisville and get his teammates the ball in spots for easy baskets to made. This game should be played at 90mph. At first glance it looks like similar teams are going head to head. David Padgett and Earl Clark will lead the way for Louisville. Lofton and JaJaun Smith will have to lead the way for the Vols. The team that rebounds the basketball the best should prevail.

North Carolina and Louisville will prevail setting up a dynamic matchup for the right to go to the Final Four.
