Tough Lost At Home For The Sparks

With the beginning of the fourth quarter the Los Angeles Sparks lead with 62-51, but the New York Liberty would not go out that easy. With 1:41 remaining the Liberty used a 22-8 spree to move ahead 83-74. By the end of the game the Liberty walked a way with a 89-78 victory. Shameka Christon scored a career-high 28 pts and Janel McCarville added 15 pts and also tied a season best with eight rebounds for the Liberty. “Getting Lisa ( Leslie) out of the game was huge for us,” said McCarville. Lisa Leslie had 12 pts before fouling out with 6:55 to play. Candace Parker had 18 pts, 10 boards, four blocks, three assist and three steals. The Sparks now stand 10-5 in the West and the Liberty are 8-7 out in the East. The Sparks missed 10 of 15 shots and grabbed just three rebounds to the Liberty’s nine in the fourth.

The Winless Dream Are Soon Becoming A Nightmare

On Wednesday night, the Atlanta Dream faced the New York Liberty. The losing streak could have came to an end, but the Dream let a 12-point lead go in the final minutes of the game and lost 81-77. Janel McCarville’s offense and late defensive pressure woke the Dream up and the Liberty walked away with the victory. McCarvilloe scored 25 pts and had seven assists. The Atlanta Dream remain winless and now have a record of 0-8. They are the worst team in the WNAB with this record. They are right behind Houston, who stand at 1-7. Betty Lennox scored 28 pts to lead Atlanta. She hit a 3-pointer with 3:26 remaining in the third that started an 18-6 run for the Dream. Tamera Young and Ivory Latta each scored 13 pts for Atlanta. The next game up for the Dream is Friday night at home against the Indiana Fever.
