When Michael Strahan announced his retirement from football. One of the reasons why Giants fans didn’t go to crazy was due to Umenyiora taking the place of the hall of fame defensive player. Umenyiora last season lead the Giants in sacks with 13 and Umenyiora was part of the defensive line that put Tom Brady on his butt throughout the whole Super Bowl 42. But last night in a pre-season game Umenyiora blew out his knee and was carted off the field and the reports just came out the Umenyiora will now be out for the season. Justin Tuck of the Giants had this to say
“I talked to him when he was in the locker room, in the training room, “Obviously, he was down. It’s unfortunate when any injury occurs, but hopefully, it is nothing serious and he will not miss any time.”
As a Giant fan bring back Michael Strahan we need you. But the truth is Strahan is not Brett Farve and he is enjoying retirement, so as a Giant fan don’t look for Strahan on opening day September 7th at home to run on the field and help the Giants beat the RedSkins. Look for the Giants to ask Mathias Kiwanuka to take the spot for Umenyiora.

There were reports coming out that Michael Strahan is retiring from the game of football. Strahan the all time sack leader in NFL history. And who was part of the miracle run for the New York Giants. That lead to a win in SuperBowl 42. Has reportedly going out on top. Strahan had this to say about the retirement.
“It was important that my teammates knew which way I was going before they got on the field to start the work to defend our title, It’s time. I’m done.” Michael Strahan played his whole career as a New Giant. Strahan has played for 15 seasons.

Steve Spagnuolo will stay with the Giants. The defensive cordinator was interviewed by the Washington RedSkins for the head coach position.
“I appreciated Mr. Snyder giving me the opportunity to visit with him,” Spagnuolo said. “I have a great deal of respect for him and the Washington Redskins organization. I was happy to have the opportunity to explore that situation, but I am equally happy to be staying in New York and look forward to continued success with the Giants.” The Giants in return has given Spagnuolo a three year deal worth 6 million.
