If you would’ve told any Giant fan at the begining of the season Eli Manning will be the MVP of Super Bowl they would’ve told you to “Get The F$^&k Out Of Here.” Manning who verbally put up with New York fans and folks in the media. Manning went 19-34 255 yards and two touchdowns. Manning in the second quarter did not play well at all throwing his first interception the first time in the playoffs. The drive which will go down in NFL Super Bowl history as remarkable catch. Manning did a play that will go down in history of New York Sports that will go up there as Bucky Dent in 1978 who hit the playoff home run to beat the Boston Red Sox. Now Manning who might go down as the greatest Quarter Back in Giants history can be held in the same name in New York Sports as Babe Ruth,Mickey Mantel,Derick Jeter,Clyde Fraizer,Lawrence Taylor,Phil Simms and now ELI MANNING !!!

Who would have ever thought that a meaningless regular season game in the last week of the season would mean so much. That is what happen in week 17 when the New England Patriots faced the New York Giants. The Patriots were going for perfection and the Giants were trying to gear up for a playoff run. Tom Coughlin made a choice to play this game as if the Giants needed it to secure a spot in the playoffs. What happened was the immediate maturation of a quarterback who needed it more than anything. Eli Manning would go on to have one of his best games of his career. Beyond the numbers that he had in the game was the faith that came from his teammates and the fans of New York. From that point on you have seen a fire in Eli that he hasn’t shown throughout his time in the NFL. Although the Giants lost that game it showed how good they can be when they play at a high level. It also showed their quarterback could play and lead this team. Since then victories over Tampa Bay, Dallas , and Green Bay have led to berth in the Super Bowl. In that span the young Manning has yet to turn the ball over. That maybe his most telling stat of them all. Alot of us expected a Manning in the big game just not Eli. But it is Eli.

It was negative 1 degrees for the start of the Giants Vs. Packers and you heard all the stories on how the Giants wouldn’t be able to handle this type of weather and your truly was one of the people that thought the Farve magic and the elements were to much for the Giants to handle. (more…)

Eli Manning may soon be stepping out of his big brother’s shoes and into something that fits a whole lot better. The New York Giants are now going to be playing in the NFC title game against the Green Bay Packers. Shocked, you can say that and its not because the Giants are playing in the NFC title game but it is because Peyton is not playing in any title game. If you take away that they play in different divisions and just say that “Manning will be playing in the title game,” the first name that comes to mind sho aint Eli. But for the past three games he has stepped his game up quite a bit playing against top teams. If the Giants want to win, then Manning is going to have to kick it in to high gear and play to level he knows he can. I know that football is a team game and not an individual game and that is the reason for the Giants victory. They all played to the same rhythm but Eli may be stepping intp this game as the most inportant person in Green Bay next Sunday. Last night he finished with no interceptions and had a career-high 132.4 passer rating. Now Giants fans should have no problem calling Eli their franchise quarterback.

Giants 21 Cowboys 17. That is what the scoreboard read as the final seconds ticked off. The Cowboys, the number 1 seed in the NFC, have lost their 6th straight playoff game. For America’s team that is truly unaceptable. When you see the look on Jerry Jones’ face at the end of this game you can tell this one hurt. Maybe more than the greased ball that led to the botched fieldgoal a year ago. What will be the aftermath of this loss only time will tell. For the second year in a row Tony Romo faltered down the stretch. This is where the whole Jessica Simpson story grows legs. Yes it shouldnot be our business what this man does in his spare time. I think he has to understand that he is the quarteback for the Dallas Cowboys not the Houston Texans. Jessica Simpson is not just a regular female. She is a pop singer who has had her own reality show. Now there are certain perks that come along with being the Cowboys quarterback. Can you handle them is the question? Understand the third sentence in this blog. America’s team has lost six playoff games in a row. Jerry Jones will not stand for that. Would it have turned out different if he spent that off week in the film room? Maybe maybe not. The perception would have been this man did everything that he could to win this game. Not that he was in Mexico with Jessica and that may have led to him missing a wide open T.O. streaking down the sideline. Just the perception of the entire episode would all of us in the media thinking of differnt things to write about then this. But he gave us the ammo for our guns. You would never see Tom Brady or Peyton Manning even for that matter Eli Manning would not have done this not only to his team but his franchise. I really don’t care if the owner or the coach told me to get away from football I owe it to my teammates to do whatever it takes to erase the bad taste of the last month of the season and last year’s playoff loss. Now Mr.Romo you have the next seven months to take your lady where ever you like and you know what nobody will care. You wanna know why? Because you won’t be playing in the Super Bowl. Take it easy Tony.

The Dallas Cowboys before they played the Giants today haven’t won in the playoffs in 11 seasons. The stage was set for Romo and the Cowboys who had to fill confident by already beating the Giants twice this year. The Giants started with the first blow with a 52 yard pass to Toomer helped give the Giants a 7-0 lead. The Cowboys turn to the running back Marion Barber who helped the 95 yard drive. Owens caught a 5 yard TD pass and tie the game 7-7. Barber also took control of the game and the offensive line and drove down the field and scored a 1 yard TD. The Cowboys took a 14-7 lead and the Giants fired right back and tied it up with a 4 yard pass to Toomer. (more…)
