Suspended Atlanta Falcon Quarterback Michael Vick has filed for bankruptcy protection while serving his time in prison. Vick filled Chapter 11 papers and the seven largest creditors listed in the court papers are owned a total of about 12.8 million. The debt includes part of a signing bonus the Falcons are trying to recover. The Falcons tried to recover $20 million in bonuses Vick earned, but a judge ruled that Vick only had to return about $3.75 million of that money. Other debts include $4.5 million owed to Richmond-based Joel Enterprises and $550,000 owed to Radtke Sports for breach of contract. He also has paid $2.5 million to a Canadian bank for defaulting on a loan. Since Vick was suspended indefinitely without pay, he has lost all major sponsors, including Nike. He is serving a 23-month prison term in Leavenworth, Kan.

There right here……on Primetime TV. Yes, it looks like the dogs that were involved in the whole Michael Vick dogfighting case have found a home. On the National Geographic Channel they will be airing a show called Dogtown were 22 dogs that belonged to Vick will go through rehabilitation. The series will focus on four of the toughest dogs in the case as experts try and bring them back to reality. To me I think the media is still going to far with this case. Its bad enough that the media had its field day with Vick but now the dogs in the case have a shot to be even more famous as people sit in their homes night after night and watch as so-called experts try to resocialize these dogs. TV now a days is really for the dogs.

After watching and participating in the ESPN special “The Vick Divide”, I was surpised and some what angered by the how the people on the panel were very flip-floppy when the crowd responded with boos or cheers. I saw these panelist at first stand on their ground that Vick did something illegal and should pay for his actions. This I do agree with, But what was lost in the show was,” is the price Vick has to pay too much”? No one said he should be pardoned, and those that think he should are not helping the cause. Ask yourself this question have you seen any animal worth 162 million dollars? Frankly I don’t think that Paris Hilton would even consider that purchase. This is what I mean by the price Vick has to pay. (more…)
