With the trade deadline already over, the Houston Rockets may now wish that they would have made a move.  Breaking news out of Houston is that the All-Star center Yao Ming will be out with season-ending surgery to repair a stress fracture in his left foot.  The Rockets have won 12 in a row but if Yao is out I don’t see this team getting to far without him.

When Yao Ming and Yi Jianlian meet for the first time this Friday night, you better believe millions of people from over seas will be watching.  “People here in China are looking forward to the next Yao Ming,” said Tim Chen the newly named CEO of NBA China.  Millions watch NBA games, and 30% of the traffic to NBA.com, comes from China.  A total of 14 people from 10 Chinese media outlets have been credentialed for the game Friday.  In China the game will air on 16 television stations, including the government network CCTV, as well as two web casts.
