Welcome to the region of defense. With teams like UCLA and Xavier this is truly not for the faint of heart. The Bruins allowed the Aggies only 10 points in the last 15 minutes of their second round matchup. Xavier in both of their wins against Georgia and Purdue were able to apply defesive pressure at the right time to pull off victories.
UCLA opens against the darlings of the tournament Western Kentucky. Kevin Love will prove to be too much for Courtney Lee and Tyronne Brazelton. The Bruins will need to get more production from Shipp, Westbrook and the rest of those guys. Darren Collison and Love can’t combine for 75% of the offense. The Bruin defense is just too tough.

The Musketeers continue their rivalry against a coach who they simply hate in Bob Huggins. Huggins has helped the Mountaineer faithful forget about the fued the school has with former coach Rich Rodriguez. Joe Alexander has shown that he can take over a ball game when he needs to. Don’t sleep on tough minded guys like Alex Ruoff. This should be the bes game of the region semis.
In the end UCLA and Xavier move on.

Mine is f’ed up man f’ed up!!!!!! Sorry I got a little upset, but thanks for asking. At the beginning of March Madness I had a few picks that drew the high eyebrow look from a chosen few of my associates. I said to myself I’ll show them with picks such as Butler over Tennessee, Mississippi State over Memphis, and Clemson reaching the Elite Eight. Needless to say none of those picks panned out. My Midwest region is done. (more…)

The team that has to become one of the scariest teams in the tournament. The Musketeers who played the best game in the tournament last year when they took on the ohio state in a thriller is now bringing the same flavor to this year’s tournament. The leadership of 5ft7 point guard Drew Lavendar the senior this team has become one of the most feared in the tournament but he is not the only weapon they have Josh Duncan the senior who in the tournament his play has gone up. Duncan normaly averages 11 point per game now he is up and outstanding 5 to 8 points extra on Saturday he dropped in 16 points. Oh yeah I almost forgot junior forward C.J. Anderson who avg. 10 points during the season scored 18 points and has also become a threat. In all the Musketeers are not a young ball club only three members of the there team are a freshman therefore this team is bringing experince to the table so look out the Musketeers maybe cutting down the nets in San Antonio.

I can not believe it…. Nebraska has won their first tournament game in ten years. The Lady Cornhuskers beat Xavier 61-58. The Cornhuskers led the entire game and they were up by 15 in the second half. Kelsey Griffin tied a season high 26pts for the eighth-seed Huskers. Griffin had help along the way from Tay Hester with 13pts and Cory Montgomery with 12pts.
