Breakin down the East Region
Wednesday, March 26th, 2008 |The Sweet Sixteen is here. Who will move on. I take time out to break down the regions. First up the East.
North Carolina comes into the round of sixteen flying. Scoring over 100 points in wins over Mount Saint Mary’s and Arkansas. Now neither of those two teams play defense the way Washington State does. Led by Derrick Low the Cougars make you play dirty and have to grind it out to win. Now for the Cougars who will handle tyler Hansborough and Wayne Ellington. Can Low stay out of foul trouble and guard Ty Lawson? Will Lawson be able to push the tempo and keep this locomotive running out or should I say in control?
Louisville comes into this game with Tennessee hitting on all cylinders as well. The Cardinals are playing tenacious defense and scoring relatively easy when they turn you over with their press. Chris Lofton will need to shoot the ball better and more often for the Vols to stay in this game. Can newly inserted J.P. Prince be able to handle the press of Louisville and get his teammates the ball in spots for easy baskets to made. This game should be played at 90mph. At first glance it looks like similar teams are going head to head. David Padgett and Earl Clark will lead the way for Louisville. Lofton and JaJaun Smith will have to lead the way for the Vols. The team that rebounds the basketball the best should prevail.
North Carolina and Louisville will prevail setting up a dynamic matchup for the right to go to the Final Four.
