During Game 4 between the Jazz and Lakers, Kobe Bryant hurt is back in the opening minutes. That lead to a Jazz win in overtime 123-115. But yesterday during a press conference Bryant told reporters that his back was a little sore but it will be fine. “I think the key is to know what you can and can’t do,” he said. Phil Jackson stated that Bryants might not shoot that well, but added He’ll do Ok. The Lakers have won the last six games between the teams in Los Angeles and have a 16-3 record against the Jazz at the Staple Center. Ronny Turiaf will play in tonights game after being ejected during Game 4. If Utah wants to win this game they will have to learn how to win at home and with Kobe’s bad back they may have their chance tonight.

The Utah Jazz in the 1st two games got beat easily by the Lakers. Kobe was outstanding and the supporting class for the Lakers were solid as well. Part of the Lakers dominance was the lack of scoring out of Carlos Boozer who in the 1st two games of the series Boozer average 12 points per game. Boozer tonight being back home in Utah where the Jazz are 40-5 before tonights game had the game of his young playoff career. Boozer had 27 points and 20 rebounds and lead the Jazz to a win over the Lakers. The Jazz tonight was 39-78 from the floor and shot at 50%. In all there were 5 players for the Jazz in double figures. Boozer after the win had this to say”I tried to stop thinking so much out there. My teammates were waiting for a big game out of me and I was too. … I had to play thought-free and just react and play,” The Lakers played well Kobe Bryant had 34 but Boozer was too much for the purple and gold. “We clawed back but you can’t turn the ball over so many times,” Bryant said. “We had a lot of open looks and you can sustain a game like that if you don’t turn the ball over.” The Jazz with the win are now for the season 41-5 and the Lakers with the loss are now 6-1 for the playoff season. Game 4 will be Sunday in Utah.

The Los Angeles Lakers knocked out the Denver Nuggets in a 4 game sweep, now their focus swifts to the Utah Jazz. Game 1 was no contest as the Lakers, they won that game and now look to Game 2 which will be played Wednesday night. The Utah Jazz are suppose to be much tougher than the Nuggets. During the regular season the Lakers had no problem beating the Jazz in 3 out of the 4 games they played. In Sunday’s game the Utah Jazz shot 38% overall and was four for 19 on the three-pointers. Utah coach Jerry Sloan knows that this will be a tough match-up. He knows his team has no one even close to Kobe Bryant which will make this series hard for them. He told the media that fatigue was not a factor in Game 1. Coach Sloan is known for his no tolerance or excuses for losing. In order to win Game 2 the Jazz are really going to have to make their shots. In Game 1 they shot 95 shots and they missed 59 of them. They shot 22 more than the Lakers. Also Devon Williams is going to have to be on Kobe like white on rice or Bryant will be on him. Bryant avg 30 pts per game in the season series but LA’s biggest mismatch is in the frontcourt. Carlos Boozer is one of the best power fowards in the game but he cant defend Pau Gasol and Odom.
