DOWN GOES No. 1-OREGON ST 27 USC 21!!

Friday, September 26th, 2008 |

Not since 1967 has Oregon St. beat a No.1 team in the country.  That team in 1967 was USC.  Well last night history repeat itself again.  The Oregon St. Beavers pulled off arguably the biggest upset in College footabll history with a win last night.  Oregon St. running back Jacquizz Rodgers the true freshman rushed for 186 yard on 37 carriers and 2 touchdowns.  His brother James Rodgers had 6 catches for 36 and 2 touchdowns. The biggest was the catch before the half time. When it look like to be and interception and the ball came out of USC defender and James Rodgers off a bounce of the hands caught it for a touchdown. Quaterback for the Beavers Lyle Moevao the Junior wasn’t outstanding but Moevao managed the game.  Moevao was 18/28 for 167 yards the most important stat was no turnovers.  As for USC what happened to the best team in the country.  USC just thought if they showed up they will just win. Joe McKnight the running back for USC only rushed for 10 yards on 7 carriers. Mark Sanchez 18/29 for 227 and three touchdowns.  Sanchez had a rough first half as total USC was under 100 yards.  Pete Caroll head coach of USC had this to say.

“I’m beside myself,”They didn’t hide what they were doing, they just did it. We couldn’t stop it. We couldn’t tackle.”

Mark Sanchez help drive the Trojans to two touchdowns back to back in the second half. But when it came to in the 4th quater to tie the game Sanchez over threw the reciver and was picked off to set up Rodgers to take it in and help the Beavers pull off the upset 27-21.  Now with the lost is USC out of the National Championship Game?  My answer is “HELL YEAH

UPSET SPECIAL TONIGHT? USC VS. OREGON STATE !!!

Thursday, September 25th, 2008 |

 VS.

Tonight the number 1 team in College Football will be on display.  The Trojans will take on the Oregon State Beavers.  Now on paper this is a cake walk. Not so fast in the last two meeting the Beavers and USC have split.  The Beavers have averaged in the last two meetings score almost 27 points. Also close to 360 yards.  And also the Beavers has force the Trojans to give up and averaged of 3 turn overs in the past two meetings. The Beavers has lost to Stanford and Penn State but you know these kids from Oregon State has had this game circle on ther calendar.   Now last time we saw USC they beat the number 5 ranked team in College Football by 32 points.  And now has a chance to run the table.  This is got” TRAP GAME”, written all over it for the Trojans. This is a game to at least watch for the 1st half Oregon State will be at home and this game will make there season.  This is a Thursday night game and no else will be playing.  USC will be going for there seventh straight win in the Pac 10.

STILL NO. 1 USC 35 OHIO ST. 3 !!!

Sunday, September 14th, 2008 |

Mark Sanchez celebrates with the USC fans above and why not, they flat out embrassed Ohio St last night. Ohio St. took a 3-0 lead and then reality hit and USC scored 32 points in a row.  Sanchez went 17/28 and 4 touchdowns. Damian Williams the sophmore caught two touchdowns.  As for the rushing offense Joe McKnight the sophmore 105 yards on the ground for 12 carries. Pete Carroll head coach of USC and was very satisfied with his team win had this to say.

“If we can keep this momentum going and we can keep our playmakers showing up, we’re going to be really tough,” said Carroll, who led USC to national titles in 2003 and ‘04. “This game is a nice win, but it doesn’t mean more than another game. Our players understand that. I think that’s why they prepare properly.”

As for Ohio St, The Buckeyes came is as ranked No. 5 in the country. But look like a division 2 program. No Chris”Beanie” Wells to start the game hurt the Buckeyes, but Wells couldn’t stop this whippin that USC was giving out.  If there is anything to be proud of Ohio State fans you have to love the play of your true fresman Terrelle Pyror who was 7/9 for 52 passing and for rushing Pryor was 11 carriers for 40 yards.  Now its back to the drawing board for Ohio State.  The lost last night still are going to have people saying.  The Big Ten is a joke and the head coach Jim Tressell is overated. But one thing can’t be no agrument about is USC.  USC is the best team in all of college football.

Looking Ahead

Wednesday, January 9th, 2008 |

My pre pre-season top five for next year:

1. USC- Even if for some reason Pete Carrol decides to leave he will leave the cupboard completely full. Headlined by soph Joe McKnight the offense should be stacked and the defense continues to reload.

2. Georgia- This really hurts me but this team is off the chain. Knowshon Moreno is a back that is not to be messed with. Matthew Stafford continues to get better and a young defense keeps getting better.

3. Florida- Yes the Tim Tebow train will continue into next season added to the mix will be Emanuel Moody, transfer from USC, To finally be the running back and Percy Harvin returns to be a dynamic dual threat. The defense needs to mature in a hurry.

4. Ohio State- It wouldn’t be a surprise to me if this team makes a third trip to the BCS title game. For their sake I hope they play a SEC team. With Chris Wells returning and a stout defense the Buckeyes will continue  to be in the mix.

5.LSU- This will be pivotal year for Les Miles. The Nick Saban holdovers are gone now can he win with his players. The talent is there will the coaching?

BCS Mess

Sunday, December 2nd, 2007 |

Because of the way this past Saturday ended up the BCS has a big mess. Before Missouri lost and West Virginia decided it couldn’t handle prosperity the matchups for the bowls don’t look that appealing. Now you know I am not an advocate for a playoff or anything I’m just telling it like it is. Let take a look at the matchups: (more…)
