Barry Bonds hit No. 754 against the Flordia Marlins on Friday, July 27th, but to me it sure is taking a long time for him to hit these last couple of homeruns. In the last couple of games he has played there were times where he didn’t hit the ball at all and if he did hit it it didn’t go anywhere. Last night they lost to the Marlins 8-5 and he was 1-for-4 with an infield single. He is just one homer shy of tying with “Hammerin ” Hank Aaron. Bonds would like to set the record at home, but the Giants have a six-game road trip to Los Angeles and San Diego before returning for a weeklong homestand against Washington and Pittsburgh. One good thing about the wait is that Commissioner Bud Selig has had a change of heart and will be in attendance at Dodger Stadium for the series opener. So lets see how soon he can get it done.

Mets and Andrew Jones having his worst career ever batting, Chipper Jones has almost single handily kept the Braves in the National League hunt. It has truly been a fortnight since I had awaken on a Sunday morning and had breakfast at Wimbledon. Matter of fact if it didn’t have the Williams sisters in it I really had nothing to do with tennis. To watch Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal battle was truly a sight to see. It took me back to the days of Boris Becker vs. Ivan Lendl, Lendl vs. or Becker vs. Stefan Edberg on the mens side. Martina Navritiola vs. Steffi Graf, then Graf vs. Monica Seles. This was a grudge match and is becoming great for men’s tennis. Federer has won Wimbledon five years in a row. That hasnot been sen since Bjorn Borg (76-80). nadal battled to the end letting everyone know this is truly a rivalry. What could make it better is if Nadal can ever win at Wimbledon.

She is R&B in it’s truest form for 2007. A twist of Stephanie Mills, Jill Scott, Ella Fitzgerald, all mixed into one. So much flare! It is refreshing to get a taste of good R&B…it’s like red Kool-AID.
