What a Saturday in College Basketball. Memphis survived not only the UAB Blazers but the fans as they escaped with a 79-78 win. Trailing 77-70 with just under to minutes to play Memphis closed the game on a 9-1 run keyed by Chris Douglas-Roberts. CDR as they call him completed a three point play with 6.5 seconds left as he spun in the lane for the lay-up along with the foul. Once again the free-throw line was almost the death of the TigersĀ as they shot an horrendous 12-25. That maybe their downfall. UConn used a 12-foot jumper in the lane by Craig Austrie with less than a second to play to lead the Huskies past South Florida 74-73 in overtime. The win gave the Huskies their ninth straight win.
