Boy what a way to start the playoffs then a extra inning rally for a win. That is exactly what happen last night in Colorado as the Rockies rallied from a 2-run deficit to win 9-8 in 13 innings. In the top of the 13th Jerry Hairston hit a two-run homer to lift the Padres to an 8-6 lead and then handed the game over to future Hall of Famer and all-time saves leader Trevor Hoffman. In a game on Saturday Hoffman had a chance to wrap up the Wild Card spot for the Padres when with two out in the botom of the ninth and the Padres leading 3-2 he gave up a rbi triple to of all people Tony Gwynn Jr, who’s dad had a HOF career with the Padres, then lost the game along with the game on Sunday to cause this one game playoff last night.
