June 26, 2008 | 2 Comments

Let the willing and dealing begin. Jermaine O’Neil is goes to Toronto for T.J.Ford,Rasho Nesterovic and the 17th pick tonight, at the NBA draft. O’Neil who has been unhappy in Indiana will now be teamed up with All Star Chris Bosh. O’Neil miss a good part of the 2007/08 season due to a knee injury. O’Neil played in 42 games and has problems with the knee. Therefore O’Neil went ahead and had surgery. O’Neil who averaged 19 points with 9 rebounds per game. Last season O’Neil was only 13 points and 6 rebounds his worst as a Pacer. O’Neil is a six time all star and if he comes in healthy will be and good addition to the Toronto Raptors. Bosh and O’Neil combo should be one of the best front courts in the Eastern Conference.

There was guy named Superman before Dwight Howard came played for the Orlando Magic in the start of his career and now 4 championship later is considred one of the best big man to ever played the game who else but Shaquille O’Neal. Howard now who put on the Superman cape during the slam dunk tournament is now on his way being the “NEW” superman in basketball. Last night the Magic along with Howard closed out the Raptors. Howard once again average a double double with 21 points and 21 rebounds. The Magic destroyed the Raptots on the board out rebounding the Raptors 55-37. Chris Bosh of the Raptors had this to say about the Magic’s Dwight Howard ”He’s a phenom; he’s the best center in the league,” . “He’s probably the strongest guy in the league, and he knows how to use his body. It doesn’t surprise me at all. I’ve seen him play this whole series, I’ve seen him play this season.” The Orlando Magic not since 1996 wins a playoff round and now gets to move on and take Philadelphia or Detriot.

The Orlando Magic wanted to prove that they were not just happy to be in the playoffs but be able to battle and the entire Eastern Conference. A way to do that is to win on the road. The Magic lost game 3 on the road to the Raptors and the Magic was trying to win game 4 to put a lock on the series. The Magic had 5 players in double figures lead by Rashard Lewis with 27 with 13 rebounds Jameer Nelso played and outstanding game 19 points and Dwight Howard 19 16 rebounds and also had 8 blocks the Magic was also solid from the three point line 11-29 as for the Raptors they were awful from the three point range shooting 2-15. Chris Bosh played dominating 39 points 15 rebounds it still was not enough the Raptors still came up short. T.J. Ford point guard who scored 12 points had this to say about the loss in game 4″It’s not over yet,” Ford said. “It’s the first one to four. We got ourselves in a hole and we just have to continue to stay positive.” The Orlando Magic with the win haven’t won on the road since 2003 against the Detriot Pistons

WNBA/NBA Combo
April 25, 2008 | Leave a Comment
Candace Parker has done a lot this year. She won Back-to-Back NCAA Women’s National Championship and she was the No. 1 pick overall in this years WNBA draft. And one more thing she maybe doing is upstaging her current NBA big brother Anthony Parker who plays for the Toronto Raptors. In the playoffs Anthony is averaging 12 pts per game. When she makes her debut this spring, they will become the second sister/brother, WNBA/NBA players. The first was done by Mfon Udoka, who played 25 games for the Houston Comets back in 2003 while her brother Ime Udoka played four games on a 10-day contract with the Lakers. Udoka now plays for the Spurs. Candace will play her first WNBA game on May 17th at Phoenix and this game will be played on ABC. Anthony and the Toronto Raptors won big last night aganist the Orlando Magic, but my only question is who will win a Championship first……my money is on little sis.

For the Raptors there were 6 players in double figures lead by T.J Ford who had only 6 points in game 2 came in with and agressive play and this time lead his team in scoring with 21. The Orlando Magic Dwight Howard 19 points 12 rebounds but the Magic was only 6-27 from three point range.”Right from the get-go, the Raptors were outstanding,” Magic coach Stan Van Gundy said. “Their point guard play was phenomenal and probably the key to the game for them.” The Raptors and Magic contiune there series on Saturday the Magic lead 2-1.

Magic Trick-Orlando 104 Toronto 103 !!!
April 23, 2008 | Leave a Comment

The Orlando Magic pulled out a squeaker last night with a one point win over the Raptors at home to take a 2-0 lead. Dwight Howard 29 points 20 rebounds by his play let it be known that he is the best player on the court. The Raptors although only by one point has to feel upset about this loss and have to look at there starting five besides Bosh’s 29 and was 9-19 from the floor the rest of the starters produced 17 points. The bench scoring for the Raptors kept them in this game 57 coming from the bench. Another way the Raptors were able to stay in the game is by shooting 90% from the free throw line 18-20. T.J Ford point guard for the Raptors struggle with his shot the whole night being 1-8. The head coach of the Orlando Magic Stan Van Gundy had this to say”A series doesn’t start until somebody loses a home game,” he said. “We’ve just held court here, that’s it. And we’re going up there, so there’s no cushion whatsoever. Until you break through nothing’s really happened.”
