A Sign of Awards to Come….

Thursday, December 6th, 2007 |

Tim Tebow was awarded the Maxwell and Davey O’Brien awards tonight in Florida. The Maxwell award is given annually to the best all around player in Div I. What does this mean? Well if history has anything to do with it not much. The Maxwell winner hasn’t won the Heisman since 1999. If there was a year that that would change this is it. With his amazing stats Tebow is the front-runner for the award. The man many are saying is the stiffest competition to Tebow, Darren McFadden won the Doak Walker and Walter Camp awards. The Walter Camp awared is awarded to the best player in Div I while the Doak Walker is given to the best running back. This is one of the closest races in recent history.

Can’t Compare

Thursday, November 29th, 2007 |

There has never been a player in FBS (Formely known as Div I) history to ever score 20 touchdowns passing and rushing. To be exact this man’s numbers are 29 passing and 22 rushing. That adds up to be 51 touchdowns. That doesn’t sound let me check my figures. Yes that is correct 51!!! Wow!! that is astounishing. (more…)

Weekend Review-College Football

Sunday, November 25th, 2007 |

Now this is fun!!!! With LSU’s meltdown on Friday the whole BCS world has been opened for all to see or be apart of. Darren McFadden showed everyone that the Heisman race now has a stud horse coming down the homestretch. He ran through one of the nations best defenses for 206 yards rushing another 39 passing and three total touchdowns ( 2 rushing, 1 passing). A performance for the ages that just might move him past Tim Tebow for the Heisman ( more on him later). (more…)
