The A.L.East Rays are not of the dog house yet. Yeah I know the Rays are leading the A.L.East by 3 games and have a record of 71-47. The Rays for 2008 have the most wins ever as a franchise. But, there is something that is a cloud over them right now. They will have to beat it in order to not only win the division but make to the postseason; it’s called injuires. The Rays have been hit with some big time key injuires. Carl Crawford the star Left Fielder has a torn tendon in his middle finger, and reports are now coming out that he maybe out for the season. Now add to that their best player on the team; Evan Longoria, the rookie third baseman, has a broken wrist and is now on the DL. Now the Rays have the best home record in baseball at 45-17, but has struggled on the road at 26-30. The Rays have got a brutal schedule in front of them to end the season. Can the Rays hold and make it to the playoffs? Just think about last season with the New York Mets 17 games to go with a 7 game lead and still did not make the postseason. In other words, Rays beware trouble may be around the corner.

Cliff Lee won his 15th game yesterday. As the Indians beat the Rays 5-2. The Indians are unbeaten taking on the Rays this season.”Honestly, I didn’t have my best stuff,”Most of the innings I felt I had to battle quite a bit. They put me to the test petty good.”
Clay Buchholz is now 2-7 for the season. Buchholz gave up 4 runs and seven hits in six innings. The Red Sox has there issues in Kansas City they’re now 3-7 taking on the Royals in there ball park.
Joba Chamberlin was not to sharp last night taking on the Rangers. Chamberlin gave up 5 runs. But that’s the least of Chamberlin problems. Last night Chamberlin was taking out of the game due to a stiff shoulder and maybe miss his next start. The Yanks lost last night due to a two out bottom of the ninth grand slam homerun Marlon Byrd for the Rangers to give them the win 9-5.

Red Sox nation has to be wondering, what is it going to take to beat the young and upcoming Tampa Bay Rays. Last the Rays over came a 4-1 hole and beat the Red Sox last night 7-6. Rookie sensation Evan Longoria went 3-4 last night and drove in three runs. Along with young stud B.J. Upton who made the play of the game with and centerfield grab. The manager of the Rays Joe Maddon had this to say”It’s a really good feeling. I can’t tell you that I expected it — I’d be lying — but right now … we do expect to win on a nightly basis,” As for the Red Sox they are now 0-6 this season going up against the Rays at home. And last night the Rays had a sold out game. The Rays also when they’re having more than 30,000 in there ball park this season are 12-1. The Rays lead the American League East by 3.5 games. But more importantly have a 5 game lead in the lost column. It doesn’t get any easier for Boston who take the Yankees in a four game series at Yankee Stadium.
