Notre Dame is not making any head coaching moves. Weis will be remaing as the top man in the Notre Dame program. Notre Dame is 6-6 this season with disapointing loss by Syracuse that look to be the nail in the coffin for Weis. Notre Dame has decided to give Weis another chance in turning around the program. Notre Dame who now has and favorable schdule will have a chance to be solid next season. Also Notre Dame could not afford to just give Weis 20 million of a buy out, so all Irish fans another year with Charlie Weis controlling the ship.

Notre Dame dispelled any worries that they would be upseted in the first round for the second straight year. The Fighting Irish beat George Mason 68-50 to kept their dreams alive in the tournament. Back in 2006 George Mason was the ultimate Cinderella story as an 11 seed they made it to the Final Four but the this tournament they learned pretty quickly that there would be no repeat of the ‘06 dream. Luke Harangody led the Notre Dame attack with 18 pts and 14 boards. Will Thomas, for George Mason had a stellar performance with 25 pts, 7 rebounds and 3 assists. Notre Dame will face 4th seed Washington State in the second round of the East Regional.

Now I know that the Notre Dame Fighting Irish are not what they used to be. They are not what they want to be. What has been a constant for the last 43 years is Notre Dame will beat the Midshipmen from Navy. Well that streak is over as Navy beat Notre Dame 46-44 in triple overtime in South Bend. (more…)

Mike Hart after the lost to Oregan had this to say” We will beat Norte Dame I guarantee it.” The running back for Michigan had that to say about this Saturday upcoming game against Charlie Weis and the Irish of Notre Dame. Mike Hart and Michigan Wolverines lived up to the bold prediction with a 38-0 beat down of Notre Dame. Hart rushed for 185 yards and 2 touchdowns he also average 5.3 per carry. On the Notre Dame side of things let’s just say they did not have a good offensive day. Notre Dame as a team have gone 38 possesions and yet to have scored a touchdown. Oh Charlie next up for the Irish is Michigan State.
