Monday, September 15th, 2008 |

Once the world found out the Tom “Almighty” Brady was out for the season with a knee injury and Matt “Who” Cassel as New England’s newest QB, alot of people had there doubts about how Week 2’s game would be played.  Cassel, a player who has not started since high school faced a NFL vetern in Brett Favre and the newly favorite New York Jets.  With the odds not on Cassel side he took ownership of his team and lead them to victory 19-10.  Cassel looked like he had been here before running the offense and hitting players like Sammy Morris who then ran for a touchdown.  Cassel was 16-of-23 for 165 yards, not bad for his first NFL start.  Favre made big mistakes in this game and the Patriots took advantage of every opportunity.   Favre went 18-of-26 for 181 yards.  This game Favre throw his first interception with the Jets, a pass intended for Chris Baker was picked up by Brandon Meriweather.  This is the eighth straight time the Jets have lost to the Patriots in the Meadowlands.  Patriots Laurence Maroney left early in the second quarter with a shoulder injury and Randy Moss was doubled coveraged the whole game and only had two cathes for 22 yards.  Next up for the Patriots, the winless Miami Dolphins.

The Great Is Done For The Season !!!!

Sunday, September 7th, 2008 |

Tom Brady the best player in the NFL is out reportedly out for the season.  In the first quarter droping back to pass Brady got his knee bent funny and had to be helped off the field.  “He was in a lot of pain. When you hear a scream, you know that,” Bernard Pollard safety for the Kansas City Chiefs who put the hit on Brady. Brady last season set a regular season by throwing for 50 touchdowns.  But now let the panic button begin lead by Randy Moss.  Who made a statement that the play on which Brady was injuried was dirty. Moss did show love to Matt Cassel the new starting quarterback for the Patriots.

“He’s the face of the New England Patriots, and Tom being who he is it kind of hurts, to be honest with you,” said Moss, who caught 23 of Brady’s TD passes in 2007, also a record. “I know the show must go on. Hopefully Matt Cassel is ready to step in. I know the team is ready to embrace him and let him lead us.”

Now how do the Patriots move forward, there is talk that Chris Simms will be working out on Monday.  And a list of other quarterbacks as well. No mater what you may think of Tom Brady this is the worst news for the NFL this season your best player out for the season.

Beantown Gets A Winner !!!

Friday, August 15th, 2008 |

The New England Patriots pick a winner by getting John Lynch.  Lynch the 36 year old will be and outstanding asset to the Patriots.  Bill Belichick typical move goes after the veterans that most teams will pass on. Lynch will be outstanding for the Patriots.

“I still have a great passion for the game of football,”I still very much love it in my heart. I still feel like I can compete at a Pro Bowl level, but the situation is going to have to be right. I’m not going to just play for any team or any situation.”

Lynch spent 11 seasons with the Tampa Bay and three season for the Broncos.  But one has to wonder with Harrison, Seau and now Lynch is this defense just too DAMN old to hold up the entire 16 game season?

Moss Stays Put !!!

Tuesday, March 4th, 2008 |

As the old song goes” Here I am singed sealed delivered I’m Yours.”  That’s what Randy Moss said to the New England Patriots.  The Patriots and Moss agreed on three year 27 million deal with 12-15 million guarnteed. Moss had a record breaking season by catching 23 touchdowns passing hall of fame wide reciver Jerry Rice.   Bill Belechick was happy having his wide reciver back with him he had this to say.

“What Randy did for our team last year was outstanding,” Patriots coach Bill Belichick said in a statement. “He is one of our most consistent, competitive and team-oriented players and it is undoubtedly a relationship we are excited to continue.”  The Pats have some unfinished business by going 18-1 and loosing the one loss coming in the Super Bowl to the Giants 17-14.  Moss and the Patriots by him singing has become once again the team to beat in all of the NFL.

What If

Monday, March 3rd, 2008 |

The New England Patriots came within one game of becoming just the second team to ever go undefeated. The loss to the New York Giants in Super Bowl 42 was huge. With the loss of Asante Samuel and Randall Gay along with Donte Stallworth have dented the Pats roster. Help is on the way, maybe. (more…)
