The Atlanta Hawks came into game 5 with house money. Games 3 and 4 at the Phillips Arena in Atlanta not only made there season sucessful but it more than likely saved the job of Mike Woodsen head coach of the Hawks but the Hawks had more on there mind with pulling off one of the bigest upsets not only in NBA playoff history but sports history. The Atlanta Hawks after winning game 3 someone in the lockeroom wrote this on the board “Don’t Be Satisfied” The Hawks tonight had the city of Atlanta all to themselves. The Phillips Arena was rockin and if you don’t even cheer for the Hawks you had to be pulling for the young team from Atlanta. The Hawks came out and played a good 1st half having the home town hero Josh Smith playing well in the 1st half scoring and was a force to be messed with scoring. The Hawks had the lead at the half the 1st time in the series 51-48 part of the big run in the 1st half was the foul trouble by the Celtics with, Pierce and Garnett picking up two fouls a piece in the 1st quarter. The Atlanta Hawks came into tonight after a good three game road trip the Hawks went 2-1. The Orlando Magic comes into tonights game with the third best record in the Eastern Conference but they have a hard time in the Phillips Arena by loosing there last five in this building the Magic was ready to pull a trick or two to snap there bad luck here at the Phillips Arena. The Atlanta Hawks tonight were trying to do something that they haven’t done since December 10th and 3rd of last year and that is win back to back games on the road. The Hawks after beating the Knicks in MSG tonight took on the Washington Wizards and the Wizards who are now almost at full strength with Caron Butler back in the line up seemed to be a force to be messed with in the East. This is a game during the Atlanta Hawks history they would loose, but with the addition of Mike Bibby and rookie sensation Al Horford the Hawks would not be denied of a lost. The Hawks was trailing 50-48 at the half and then in third quarter had there most effective quarter the whole by pumping 33 points in the quarter but still couldn’t shake the Knicks. The Knicks made a come back in the 4th quarter by bad outside shooting and allowing the Knicks to even take the lead at one point in the 4th quarter. Al Horford was dominating the whole night scoring defense and rebounding. Horford had 20 points and 11 rebounds. Mike Bibby also had and outstanding night 11 points and 10 assits. Josh Smith was the leading scorer for the Hawks with 25. Zach Randolph lead all scores with 29. The Atlanta Hawks win there 2nd in a row and next for the Hawks the Boston Celtics

The Hawks are glad to be back home after a rough West Coast trip were they went 1-4. The Hawks wanted to start on a hot streak at home taking on the Kings. The Kings who beat Atlanta in there house now got a chance to get some pay back and Mike Bibby the former King wanted to show his ex team how much they’re going to miss him. Bibby tonight was outstanding. By having a double double with 24 points and 12 rebounds and also Josh Childress coming off the bench with 25 and J smooth aka Joe Johnson was the high man for the Hawks with 26. The Hawks with the win are 1.5 game behind the Nets to get the last playoff seed can they get in? We will see next up for the Hawks are the New York Knicks.
