The date was July 30th 2007.  And Kevin Mchale and Danny Ainge made the trade.  The Celtics got Kevin Garnett and the Minnesota got Ryan Gomes, Gerald Green, Al Jefferson, Theo Ratliff, Sebastian Telfair, a 2009 first round draft pick.  The rest as they is history.  Garnett came to the Lakers along with Ray Allen and Paul Pierce was already there and the union was made.  So last nights game 6 in Boston, the Lakers were not only going up against a tough Celtics team, But they had to beat three hall fame players. Doc Rivers last season only won 24 games.  A lot of people thought that Rivers was maybe not cut out to be the coach for the Celtics.  The General Manager Danny Ainge pulled off a huge trade.  Ainge brought in Kevin Garnett and Ray Allen.  And with that the Celtics has had the biggest turn around in NBA history.  A fourty two game turn around and with a win tonight.  The Boston Celtics will be going to the NBA Finals. Boston hasn’t been in the NBA Finals since 1987.  The last time the Celtics won a Championship was 1986.
