No, this rivalry is not intense as of yet the Red Sox Vs. Yanks. But its starting to build that way. From Jimmy Rollins of the Phillies saying we are the team to beat in the N.L. East. To Carlos Beltran saying the Mets are going to take them down. The Mets last season in the month of September having its epic collaspe. The Phillies and the Mets have grown to a real hatered among both ball clubs. Billy Wagner the Mets closer has had a hard time with his former ball club the Phillies. Wagner has given up hits and has a very hard time closing out the Phillies. But now Wagner being out for this series due to and injury. The Mets have been playing well. And have won 12 out of its last 14 games. As for the Phillies. They’ve struggled due to the lack of pitching in they lost back to back games to the Marlins. And still do not really have a top ace on there pitching staff. (more…)

Your’s truly can not for know say” meet the mess”. The Mets have turned around since Jerry Emanuel has become the manager of the Mets. The team looks to be playing harder. And there bats have come alive. Delgado and Reyes in paticular have been playing a lot better since the departure of one Willie Randolph. Johan Santana pitched 5 scorless innings and the SanFransico Giants could not touch the ace of the staff for the Mets Johan Santana. The Mets are now 47-44 and are now tied for 2nd place with the Florida Marlins.

Robinson Cano has signed a 4-year, $30 million deal with the New York Yankees. The Yanks avoid going to arbitration by signing Cano, who hit .306 with 19 homers and 97 RBI last year. Cano was reportedly among the players the Minnesota Twins wanted in exchange for Johan Santana, but the Yankees flatly refused to include him in any deals. Chien Ming Wang, the team’s star pitcher, is the only arbitration-eligible player they have yet to deal with. Wang is seeking $4.6 million for 2008, after posting 19 wins in each of the last two seasons. The Yanks are offering $4 million.

USA Today is reporting that Johan Santana has been traded to the New York Mets. It is a four player deal all are young prospects from the Mets. Therefore the Mets now just jumped up to be the odds on favortie in the National League with a club of Reyes,Wright,Martinez and Santana. The offical response from the Mets won’t be announced until the Mets finshed the deal with Santana at 25 million a year for 6 years. This trade can be void if the Mets don’t get the deal done in 48 to 72 hours. Santana record in the American League 93-48 !!!
