Reports are coming out of Detriot. That head coach Flip Saunders has been given his walking papers. Saunders has taken the Pistons to the Eastern Conference Finals three seasons in a row. Saunders posted a record during the regular season 176-70. The General Manager of the Piston Joe Dumars had this to say.
“Decisions like this are difficult to make, especially with the success we have had throughout the last three regular-seasons,” Dumars said. “However, at this time, I feel it is necessary to make a change. I thank Flip for his hard work and dedication, but it is time for a new voice to lead our team.”

Game 2 the Boston Celtics were trying to win there 10th post season game in a row and also take a 2-0 lead in Eastern Conference Finals. The Boston Celtics in threre 9 wins at home have kept the visitors under 100 points. The first two teams that the Boston Celtics faced, do not pack the same punch as the Detriot Pistons. Detriot comes in battle tested and loves playing on the road and is ready to break the 9 post game home winning streak of the Celtics. (more…)

Last night the Detroit Pistons sealed the deal by beating the Orlando Magic 91-86 to advance to their sixth-consecutive Eastern Conference Finals. They won this game at home so it made it even more special. Orlando had a chance to come back within the last few minutes, but Tayshaun Prince blocked Hedo Turkoglu’s dunk with 16 seconds left. The Pistons top performers was Richard Hamilton who led the team with 31 pts and Antoino McDyess with 17 pts and 11 rebounds. Chauncey Billups is stilled sidelined with that sore hamstring. Dwight Howard had a double double with 14 pts and 17 rebounds. With this win, Detroit now must wait for the winner of the Celtic-Cavs series. They play tonight in Boston and the series is tied 2-2. Congrats to Detroit, but I still think without Billups in the lineup they may have a tough time in this next round. Only time will tell.
