Let the panic begin. All the Cubs fans who have witness all the bad things that can happened to a franchise. Now can add the name of James Loney who hit a grand slam homerun to lift the Dodgers over the Cubs. And add Manny Ramirez who hit a 7th inning bomb. Manny Ramirez who is never for a lost of words had this to say”I’m just being Manny,Manny
“That’s it. I’ve been playing great everywhere, and I’m just happy that I’m here in L.A. It was a great move for me, just to go and show people that that other stuff that I left behind wasn’t true, that I just want to come and get a new life and play the game … and show people that I still can do this.”
Lou Pinella the manager of the Cubs is now facing his biggest adversity. The Cubs who got 100 years of losing and is now two games away from being 101 years. Piniella had this to say about yesterday loss.”Let’s put this one behind us and go get them tomorrow.” Next game Tonight Dodgers Vs. Cubs.

This is arguably the best division in baseball. The National League Central. The Cubs who have the best record in baseball in the National League. The Cubs haven’t won a championship in a 100 years. The Millwaukee Brewers who have always been a team who never goes after big time free agents. Now has basically is going for a World Championship this year. The Brewers who have got CC Sabithia a top pitcher who they more than likely the Brewers won’t keep after this season. The Brewers are now maybe the team to beat in the National League. Here are your top 5 things to watch for in this series.
5. Kerry Wood being out of this series. Can this bullpen for the Cubs hold up in the 8th & 9th inning. Going in a hostile enviornment and get a big win? There will be a moment of truth for this Cubs bullpen.
4. No place like home, for the Millwaukee Brewers. The Brewers this season are 32-19 which second behind the Cubs in the National League. (more…)

1908, that’s what had to go through every Cubs fan last night. As Alfonso Soriano was laying at the plate at home. Soriano was hit by a pithced last night, which broke his hand. And now the homerun leader of the Cubs will be out for 6 weeks. Soriano was on the disable list not too long ago for a calf injury. And now the outfielder will be out for two months. Soriano is leading the team in homeruns with 15. Lou Pinella manager of the Cubs had this to say.”He was just starting to run the way we thought he could, playing well in the outfield and hitting the ball with some power,”A bad break for us. Just an unfortunate thing. …It’s a shame, it really is. Things happen in baseball.” The Cubs did win yesterday 7-2 over the Braves.

H30’s National League player of the month is Alfonso Soriano. This guy was outstanding during the month of May. Soriano hit 10 homeruns batting.339. for the month of May. And now the Cubs have the best record in baseball. The Cubs now have a record of 36-21. Lou Pinella has so far changed the atmosphere of the Cubs. Pinella who has won as a player and as manager, seemed to have installed the same winning tradition to the Cubs. The Cubs are on a 7- game winning streak. Also the Cubs are almost unbeatable at home with a 26-8 record. The last time the Cubs had a winning record in June, was 1908 that was a 100 years ago.

Lou Piniella in his first year as manager did the unthinkable. He has made the Cubs into a winner, the loveable losers now have a chance to erase an 85 year curse and that is not winning a world championship. A. Soriano was the big time player for the month of September with 13 homeruns. Living up to his big time contract Soriano has proven he is a team leader. The pitching at time a little suspect came through when it counts; Zambrano & Lilly was a combined 33-21 this season. I feel Lou Piniella was the key to the whole success. He would not take a loser mentality and challenged this ball club to be winners. How sweet it is.
