“MVP” Chauncey Billups for the 7th season in a row is going to the Conference finals. I don’t care what anyone says this guy is Billups is really the most underated player in history of the NBA. Billups was the finals MVP back in 2004 when Billups and the Pistons beat the Lakers to win Larry Brown’s only NBA championship. Now in the most shocking news of the NBA season is Billups is leading the Nuggets to the Western Conference Finals in his 1st year being there. Chanucey just took a team you would’ve never ever thought will ever be competive in the NBA postseason and maybe the best team in the NBA. And in great Chauncey Billups fashion when asked about why this Nuggets team is so solid now this is what Billups said”You can start to put Melo in that group of winners and not just great players,” Billups is talking about Carmelo Anthony who has been on fire since the postseason. Billups wanted everyone to know the Melo is one of the main reasons why the Nuggets are a great team now. Bottom line I don’t know if they will win the next round or win the NBA championship this year, but you must admit and take notice that Chauncey Billups quietly maybe the be player and leader in the NBA today.

Allen Iverson will be going to the city of
Motown. Iverson was traded to the Pistons for Chauncey Billups and Antonio McDysee. On the front it looks like the Nuggets got away with the best move here. But check out the chess move General Manger Joe Dumars really made. Iverson is in his last season of a contract and has the same agent as Lebron James and Richard Hamilton who by the way yesterday sign a 3 year extension. Now when Lebron James in 2010 goes on the free agent market the Pistons will now more than likely have this on there roster. Iverson,
Hamilton, Prince and Rasheed Wallace, and have enough cap room to pick up Lebron James. Can you say check mate by Joe Dumars. The Nuggets finally got better defensively and now this is the last run for Carmelo Anthony. Anthony will be the first option on the Nuggets and will be allowed to carry this team offensively. Chauncey Billups will be taking control of this ball club but his biggest contribute to the Nuggets will be the leadership on the floor. The Nuggets with this move might’ve got themselves back into the playoff hunt in the wild, wild west, maybe with the addition of Billups Kenyon Martin can finally step his game up and become a force on the Nuggets.

The Pistons are trying restructure there roster. The Pistons reportedly have a deal on the table. Baron Davis from Golden State for Chauncey Billups and Rasheed Wallace. The Pistons also now have new head coach in Michael Curry. It seems that the team from motown is really trying to go in another direction. Baron Davis is in his final year of his contract with Golden State.

Ray Allen has had a terrible post season. Allen who was brought to Boston to win a championship has not been the reason why the Celtics had made it this far. Allen some points in the post season looked old and flat out wasn’t a factor on the Celtics, but last night Ray Allen’s performance might’ve saved the Celtics season. (more…)

The Boston Celtics and Detriot Pistons kicked off the Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals last night and the Celtics are still undefeated at home. Boston is now 9-0 at home after beating the Pistons last night 88-79. The key to the Celtics victory was the play of Raja Rondo in 40 minutes Rondo had 11 points but his defense on Chauncey Billups was the key. Billups last night only had 9 points and seemed out of place coming off the hamstring injury. Kevin Garnett had 26 and Pierce 22 which made the Celtics take 1-0 lead in the best of seven against the Pistons. Doc Rivers the coach of the Celtics had this to say.”I believe in him. I play him. I’m going to keep playing him,” Celtics coach Doc Rivers said of his point guard. “I told him before the game, ‘Stop worrying about them. Make them worry about you, too. You’re a hell of a basketball player.’” Game 2 will be Thursday night in Boston.

The Detriot Pistons came into game 3 with taking complete control of the series. The Pistons if they win will have a 3-0 lead and will be looking at and easy way to get to the Eastern Conference Final for the 6th straight season. For the Magic this a desprate game for them they haven’t beat the Pistons in the playoffs in years and they as a team knew if they didn’t win game 3 and 4 this series is over. (more…)
