Instant Replay- In Baseball
October 2, 2007 | Leave a Comment
After watching last nights game between the Rockies and the Padres many observers feel that baseball now needs to grow with the times and adopt instant replay. Albeit there were two calls that instant replay would have been a huge help on. One the homerun that after watching the replay clearly showed hitting a wheelchair in the left field stands and of course the Matt Holiday run or no run however you choose to look at it in the bottom of the 13th. Let the Playoffs Begin
October 2, 2007 | 1 Comment
Boy what a way to start the playoffs then a extra inning rally for a win. That is exactly what happen last night in Colorado as the Rockies rallied from a 2-run deficit to win 9-8 in 13 innings. In the top of the 13th Jerry Hairston hit a two-run homer to lift the Padres to an 8-6 lead and then handed the game over to future Hall of Famer and all-time saves leader Trevor Hoffman. In a game on Saturday Hoffman had a chance to wrap up the Wild Card spot for the Padres when with two out in the botom of the ninth and the Padres leading 3-2 he gave up a rbi triple to of all people Tony Gwynn Jr, who’s dad had a HOF career with the Padres, then lost the game along with the game on Sunday to cause this one game playoff last night. A Ball Of Money!!!
September 15, 2007 | Leave a Comment
Barry Bonds historic homerun ball 756 was not only a record breaker, but it was sold today on the internet for a large amount $756,467. Homerun number 755 only went for $186,750. Matt Murphy 21 who caught the ball had this to say. “ I had hope to keep the ball but right now at this stage in my life I made the right decision in selling the baseball.

Bobby Cox Its Time!!!
September 15, 2007 | Leave a Comment
Ok he has given Atlanta the only championship I understand that, but this is grown man business and its time for the Braves to give Bobby Cox a nice gift name a street after him and then tell him to go catch fart in the wind. This team clearly needs to add some new life in the club house with Chipper Jones being hurt almost always and Andrew Jones looking like he has been hanging with me at Krispy Kreme the former beast of the east is now the old and too damn slow. All I have to look forward to living in Atlanta is now Mike Vick…. DAMN I FORGOT…..GO HAWKS….

Party like it’s 1993
August 2, 2007 | Leave a Comment
John Schuerholz has done it again. Like in ‘93 the general manager of the Braves has dramaticaly made his franchise better than the rest of the National league. With the impressive deal to bring Mark Teixeira and Octavio Dotel truly give this Braves team a fighting chance in September and October. The last time the Braves organization had this much energy was when the crime dog Fred McGriff was added in 1993. That season didnot bring the Braves a championship but did lay the foundation for the ‘95 team to bring home Atlanta’s only major professional sport title. This gives Chipper, who some have called the MVP of the National League, more protection in the lineup. If Andruw Jones can pick his game up then the Braves will have a lineup without any appearant holes.

WE’RE WAITING!!!!
July 30, 2007 | Leave a Comment
Barry Bonds hit No. 754 against the Flordia Marlins on Friday, July 27th, but to me it sure is taking a long time for him to hit these last couple of homeruns. In the last couple of games he has played there were times where he didn’t hit the ball at all and if he did hit it it didn’t go anywhere. Last night they lost to the Marlins 8-5 and he was 1-for-4 with an infield single. He is just one homer shy of tying with “Hammerin ” Hank Aaron. Bonds would like to set the record at home, but the Giants have a six-game road trip to Los Angeles and San Diego before returning for a weeklong homestand against Washington and Pittsburgh. One good thing about the wait is that Commissioner Bud Selig has had a change of heart and will be in attendance at Dodger Stadium for the series opener. So lets see how soon he can get it done.
