Josh Childress became only the 5th ball player in NBA history in the off season to go to Europe.  Childress who was a key factor for the Hawks this season making the playoffs for the first time in 9 seasons.  Now Childress has made up his mind and now is on his way to Greece. Childress mostly coming off the bench in the second half was giving 11 points and almost 5 rebounds per game.

“I’ve talked to a few guys, and it could become a trend,” This is what Childress said about Americans going to Europe. ”I’m not so sure it won’t. It’s different. We thought out of the box a little on this one.” The Atlanta Sprit LLC who owns the Hawks looks like they’re keep up with the Atlanta tradition.  And that’s get rid of all its key players.

Josh Childress on his way to Greece?  Yes Greece there is a report that Childress has and offer of a three year deal worth 20 million. Childress for the Hawks averaged 11 points and 5 rebounds a game.  The owners of the Hawks, the Atlanta Spirt LLC. has not done a good job in negations with Childress.  Childress feels the ownership of the Hawks is to much worried about Josh Smith getting resigned instead of taking care of him.  Childress is reportedly going now to Greece to meet with the ball club will Childress leave Atlanta for Greece? Will see !!!

The Boston Celtics in the regular season won 66 games brought the historic franchise the Boston Celtics back to promise.  The Celtics taking on the Hawks was suppose to be a laugher a week ago the Celtics had a 2-0 lead and now just a week later the Hawks and the Celtics are now tied up at 3-3.  The turn around is being at home for the Hawks and having different teamates step up to the plate.  Last night in game 6 in the 1st half who lead scores for the Hawks Marvin Williams with 12 points the Celtics had a 50-49 lead at the half.   This game was back and forth in the second half but in the 4th period the Hawks outscored the Celtics 24-18 with key three pointer from Joe Johnson of the Hawks and Paul Pierce who was called with his 6th foul didn’t take it to well by throwing his head band after the foul was called.  A technical foul was called and  The Hawks was able to hold off the Celtics and get the win 103-100.  The key factor is the 20,425 fans in Atlanta letting the Celtics know that you can’t beat the Hawks not tonight in this building.”I’ve played 13 years, and I’ve been here every year for 13 years,” Garnett said. “This is the first time I’ve seen this atmosphere like this [in Atlanta]. That’s the intensity of the playoffs.” Josh Smith who is from Atlanta had this to say “It’s definitely a dream,” Atlanta’s Josh Smith said. “But we weren’t going to be satisfied with just making the playoffs.” Can the Atlanta Hawks pull off one of the biggest upsets in sports history by going up to Boston in a game7 to get a win? Sunday at 1pm will find out.

Ok, this is not the outcome I was looking for.  How does Kevin Durant pull this off. I mean he had a great year, he avg 20.3 pts a game the most from a rookie since Carmelo Anthony.  But the way he played did not get his team even close to the playoffs this year.  Sure he was second in the draft but Al Horford of the Atlanta Hawks rookie years was much more impressive.  Durant’s excellent season was wasted by the Sonics.  The Sonics had the worst record in the Western Conference, they only won 20 games. Yes, I admit that at first I saw Durant as this years ROY, after Greg Odem went down he was the likely chose, but his year was nothing like Horford’s year.   The voters who voted must be smoking the same stuff as Josh Howard or they are blind if they couldn’t see that the true rookie needed to Al Horford.  He did place second and Luis Scola placed third from the Houston Rockets.

The Atlanta Hawks came into game 5 with house money.  Games 3 and 4 at the Phillips Arena in Atlanta not only made there season sucessful but it more than likely saved the job of Mike Woodsen head coach of the Hawks but the Hawks had more on there mind with pulling off one of the bigest upsets not only in NBA playoff history but sports history.
