Ok, this is not the outcome I was looking for. How does Kevin Durant pull this off. I mean he had a great year, he avg 20.3 pts a game the most from a rookie since Carmelo Anthony. But the way he played did not get his team even close to the playoffs this year. Sure he was second in the draft but Al Horford of the Atlanta Hawks rookie years was much more impressive. Durant’s excellent season was wasted by the Sonics. The Sonics had the worst record in the Western Conference, they only won 20 games. Yes, I admit that at first I saw Durant as this years ROY, after Greg Odem went down he was the likely chose, but his year was nothing like Horford’s year. The voters who voted must be smoking the same stuff as Josh Howard or they are blind if they couldn’t see that the true rookie needed to Al Horford. He did place second and Luis Scola placed third from the Houston Rockets.

Saturday’s game in Atlanta was one for the record books. The Atlanta Hawks pulled off something that no one thought they could do. They beat the best team in the East 102-93. The Boston Celtics had the league’s best record in regular season ( 66-16). Rookie of the Year Al Horford played one of his best games on Saturday. Horford showed much leadership in is young age. In college he played for Florida who won Back-to-Back National Championships. He seems to be getting everyone around him more involed in the game. That will be the key to winning, showing the same emotion they showed in Game 4 tonight. Veterans Mike Bibby has been here before and knows what it takes to compete in the playoffs. This young team is feeling the fire and they know that even if they don’t win the series at least they won one game. Something they could not say during the regular season. This is the first time in nine years that the Hawks have made it to the playoffs and around the city things seem to be a little bare. Where is the Congratulation posters or even more signs of the Hawks logo. Atlanta what is the deal??? How Phillips was rockin on Saturday this city needs to show more pride in their home team. If Atlanta wins tonight by tomorrow we should be seeing signs from Stone Mountion to Decatur, from Riverdale to Marietta. This city need to be out in full force, lets show the Hawks that we are proud of them and that we are behind the 100%. LET’S GO HAWKS!!!!

The Atlanta Hawks tonight were trying to do something that they haven’t done since December 10th and 3rd of last year and that is win back to back games on the road. The Hawks after beating the Knicks in MSG tonight took on the Washington Wizards and the Wizards who are now almost at full strength with Caron Butler back in the line up seemed to be a force to be messed with in the East. This is a game during the Atlanta Hawks history they would loose, but with the addition of Mike Bibby and rookie sensation Al Horford the Hawks would not be denied of a lost. The Hawks was trailing 50-48 at the half and then in third quarter had there most effective quarter the whole by pumping 33 points in the quarter but still couldn’t shake the Knicks. The Knicks made a come back in the 4th quarter by bad outside shooting and allowing the Knicks to even take the lead at one point in the 4th quarter. Al Horford was dominating the whole night scoring defense and rebounding. Horford had 20 points and 11 rebounds. Mike Bibby also had and outstanding night 11 points and 10 assits. Josh Smith was the leading scorer for the Hawks with 25. Zach Randolph lead all scores with 29. The Atlanta Hawks win there 2nd in a row and next for the Hawks the Boston Celtics

Everyone knows that I am a huge Florida Gator fan. With that out the way I am about to be objective. The 06-07 version of the Florida Gators to me are the best TEAM in College Basketball in the last 15 years. Matter of fact not just to me but for real they are the best TEAM. After winning the first basketball title of any kind in the state of Florida the “04’s” as they liked to be called (Corey Brewer, Taurean Green, Joakhim Noah, and Al Horford) all could have went pro. Especially Noah as he was the hottest commodity in the game. Some even said he would be the number 1 pick. Yet they all came back to school to create history. Now we have all seen what decisions like this have done to kids i.e the 90-91 UNLV team with Larry Johnson, Stacy Augmon, Anderson Hunt, and Greg Anthony. (more…)
