Black Balled???

The 2nd half of the 2008 season will kick off on Thursday night.  And your’s truly H30 is kind of upset about what’s going on in the game of baseball.  Last night in the All Star game you had all the legend’s come out and be cheered by the fans of Yankee Stadium.  A good volume of there were African Americans.  Eddie Murry,Dave Winfield,Willie Mays,Hank Aaron etc.  Major League Baseball to me has lost a whole generation of up and coming black baseball talent.  The numbers are just mind blowing.  Thirty years ago there at least 28% African Americans playing baseball.  Now it is down to under 10%.  The Detriot Tigers Center Fielder Curtis Granderson had this to say. ” College team I was by myself, Tee ball by myself , couple little league teams and All Star teams by myself.” (more…)

Rock Holiday-Colorado 2 Braves 1 !!!

The Colorado Rockies came into last night game on 5 game losing streak and look to turn it around .  The Rockies had to go up against the veteran Tom Glavine and the Atlana Braves the Braves who swept the Mets back home in a 2 game series were now taking the show to the west coast. (more…)

Bronx Cheer-Blue Jays 2, Yankees 3!!!

The 2008 season finally kicked off for the New York Yankees and Toronto Blue Jays with a rain out yesterday both team were ready to go at it tonight and get the season started.  For the Yanks this is there final season opener for the old stadium it’s been 85 years at the same address and now the house that Ruth built will now be moving on not too far right across where the new Stadium is being built but with all that said the Yanks wanted to start of the 2008 season with a win over the division opponents the Toronto Bue Jays. MLB-Preview !!!

The Major League Baseball Season will offically kick off this week where all teams will be in action.  There are a lot of story lines this coming season from Joe Giardi to Joe Tore.  Johan Santana going to New York Detriot Tigers being the new beast of the American League? The Seattle Mariners are now going to take over the AL West? Are the Colorado Rockies a trick pony? Will the Chicago Cubs who haven’t won since 1908 finally breakthrough and become the Champs of Baseball? (more…)
