Paulus Decision tomorrow

Wednesday, May 13th, 2009 |

Well the Greg Paulus saga will come to a end tomorrow. Paulus a former Parade All American High School QB and former point guard for the Duke Blue Devils is to decide between his hometown Syracuse Orangemen and the Nebraska Huskers to go play college football at for one year. Greg has traveled all over the country looking at school to goto. That is why this is such a weird story because one day he was working out for the Green Bay Packers then he was up at Michigan talking to Rich Rodriguez and after all that Syracuse came a knocking the some how Nebraska’s name got threw into the ring.  The reason he can play is because he never redshirted at Duke and is graduating in four years and can get a special waiver from the NCAA to play one year of football.

Good for Greg on keeping his name relivevant because he sure fell off the Duke wagon when he lost his job mid way through his senior year. Paulus was the top QB coming out of high school at Christian Brothers Academy by  Syracuse. He threw for 11,763  yards and 152 touchdowns in high school. He chose to play basketball at Duke instead. His little brother is a quarterback at North Carolina so the genes are their for him to be a QB.

But I don’t need this show to make it’s way to Lincoln. First is was former Miami QB Robert Marve and now it Paulus who have been down to Nebraska for a visit. We have had some questions about the QB position since Joe Ganz graduated but Zac Lee looks to have taken the lead for that position. Patrick Witt looked like the front runner heading into Spring ball but up and decided he wanted to transfer to Yale for academic reasons. We have plenty of quarterbacks at Nebraska with Lee, LeTravis Washington who was a linebacker but played QB in high school, Cody Spano tore is ACL in spring ball, Cody Green tabbed as the heir apparrent to the top spot because he was a top QB coming out of high school this year and looked good in the spring game and Taylor Martinez who is a wild card because he is suppose to be a safety but played QB in high school in California where he was tabbed as the best in California at that position last year.

In a nut shell I don’t want Mr. Paulus we already have enough talent for this year at QB. Thanks for the consideration and good luck playing for the Orangemen. They need all the help they can get maybe you can even impress some scouts’ in the NFL. If not there is always room for you on Coach K’s bench.

Stafford Is The Best QB !!!

Tuesday, April 21st, 2009 |

-Damn it look at the tape. The S.E.C. has been the conference for College football for the past few years.  And Stafford is the best quarterback coming out in this years draf.  Yeah I know Stafford throw interceptions but at the same time his offensive line was like swiss chesse.  The offensive line of the UGA Bulldogs had so many injuries that it was surprise that Stafford didn’t get killed.  Stafford ran a pro style offense against great defenses in the S.E.C. Stafford went up against teams like Alabama, Florida and LSU.  Now Stafford and the Bulldogs got there ass handed to them in two of three of those games, but to defend Stafford no real wide outs and a very weak offensive line.  Stafford is the top QB coming out of the draft. Not Mark Sanchez the proof is in the tape.  Sanchez went up against Oregan St. and looked like a guy who couldn’t take the job away from David Booty.  Booty was able to win the job from Sanchez and Booty has not been able to sniff a NFL field. I will take Stafford as my No. 1 pick in the NFL if I am the Lions. The Lions have the explosive wide out Calvin Johnson and by the way in third round go pick up Javon Ringer and he will be a great inside runner and now you have three major hits for your offensence.  QB with a strong arm a great wide out and a strong running back..  H30 HAS SIGNED ON LIONS GET STAFFORD AS YOUR NO.1 PICK IN THE NFL DRAFT.

Pelini Contract Extension

Tuesday, March 31st, 2009 |

Well HuskerNation we can all breathe a sigh of relief. Yesterday Tom Osborne got Bo Pelini a contract extension through 2014 and $1.851 million annually. Last year was Bo’s first year as head coach he led the Huskers to a 9-4 season tied for the BIG 12 North title and beat Clemson in the Gator Bowl. Pelini was the 11th highest paid coach in the Big 12 last year and now is the seventh highest paid coach. The biggest part of the extension is for his assistants’ who also got a pay raise. The pay raise for the assistants it more important to me than the extension for Pelini. Nebraska has a very good group of assistant that include Shawn Watson the offensive coordinator who has been on many schools’ short list for their Head Coaching job. Last year Nick Saban tried to get him down to Bama thankfully Watson said no thanks. Spring Ball is in full swing at Nebraska with the main question this year for Bo is who will be the QB? Husker fans well just have to wait and see.

Orange You Tired?? Syracuse 127-Uconn 117 !!!

Friday, March 13th, 2009 |

“I’ve got no words,” Syracuse coach Jim Boeheim said when asked to describe the second-longest Division I game ever. “I’ve never been prouder of any team I’ve coached.” It was 3 hours and 46 minutes of drama. The longest Big East game took place last night in the world’s most famous arena Madison Square Garden.  The Syracuse Orangemen defeated UConn last night in a thriller.  The game was story book game and it really showed what competing is all about.  I mean at first I didn’t understand why Jim Calhon the UConn coached had his players still out there after the third overtime.  Due to the Huskies have pretty much wrap up a top two seed in the 65 man tournament.  But then it hit me it’s not about the tournament it is about laying it all on the line and giving it all you got.  Last night was about heart and effort not about a National Championship.  The game last night was about we are at Madison Square Garden and we are not going to lie down for no one.  That was the thought process on both teams.  We lost the game because we turned the ball over 27 times and couldn’t make a foul shot,” Connecticut coach Jim Calhoun said.  No coach Calhoun you won last night you proved what sports is all about effort and heart.
