Arenas will be a Wizards for a while. Gilbert Arenas has signed for 6 season worth 111 million. Arenas was reportedly going for the mas deal for $127 million.
“I’m basically giving back $16 million,” Arenas told the Washington Times. “This is in line with what I’ve been saying the whole time. You see players take max deals and they financially bind their teams. I don’t wanna be one of those players and three years down the road your team is strapped and can’t do anything about it.” Arenas averaged 22 points 5 assist and 4 rebounds.
“It’s a relief,” Arenas told the Washington Times. “It was a burden at the same time. Your whole city is depending on you, wondering if you’re going to make the right decision. I’m a franchise player and sometimes franchise players need to make franchise decisions.”

Kudos to the Clippers for going ahead and getting Baron Davis to play point guard for them. The only problem is now they must signed Elton Brand. And now the Warriors who was Baron Davis old team has now stepped in and has made and offer that maybe to good to turn down if you’re Elton Brand. Reportedly the deal is worth 90 million for 5 years. The Clippers has proposed a 5 year 65 million deal. The day after they signed Baron Davis. But reportedly Brand will remain with the Clippers espcially since they signed Baron Davis. But the Clippers do look like they’re going to loose one of they players on the team. Corey Maggette has reportedly about to signed with the Spurs. This is highly unsual for the Clippers to be so involved in all these type of moves in the off season. It looks like if Elton Brand decide to say the Lakers might have some competition for who owns the Staple Center this year in Los Angeles.

LOL. Yeah I know H30 pipe dream right? Well Danny Ferry General Manager of the Cavaliers. Have you read a recent quote from your all star player Lebron James?
“My favorite borough? Brooklyn,” James said, choosing the proposed future home of the New Jersey Nets over the borough of Manhattan, where the Knicks play their home games. “Brooklyn is definitely a great place here in New York City, and some of my best friends are from Brooklyn, so I stick up for them.” Yeah all that Jay Z bonding and hanging out is going to cost the city of Cleveland the best thing that has ever happened to them. What can they do? Danny Ferry better go speak to Elton Brand, Baron Davis or Ron Artest. If not King James will say goodbye Cleveland. And say “HELLO BROOKLYN.”

The Golden State Warriors guard Baron Davis has opted out of his $17.8 million contract owned to him and the Los Angeles Clippers could be calling. In his final season of his six-year contract, Davis made his decision late yesterday. He could still sign with the Warriors but the love that he has in L.A. could be more appealing. He grow up in Southern California and he played for UCLA. Before Davis opted out it was reported that the Clippers were looking at Sacramento Kings point guard Beno Udrih.

With the No. 1 pick in the 2008 NBA Draft the Chicago Bulls select Derrick Rose from the University of Memphis. Rose will be playing for his hometown city as the newest face of the Bulls. Rose led the Tigers to the NCAA title game. He is NBA ready and I real he will do very well playing in front of his home crowd. The second pick in the draft was Michael Beasly going to the Miami Heat. Beasly averaged 26.2 points, thrid in the nation and topped Div I with 12.4 rebounds per game. With this pick Beasly may bring some Heat back to Miami.

Let the willing and dealing begin. Jermaine O’Neil is goes to Toronto for T.J.Ford,Rasho Nesterovic and the 17th pick tonight, at the NBA draft. O’Neil who has been unhappy in Indiana will now be teamed up with All Star Chris Bosh. O’Neil miss a good part of the 2007/08 season due to a knee injury. O’Neil played in 42 games and has problems with the knee. Therefore O’Neil went ahead and had surgery. O’Neil who averaged 19 points with 9 rebounds per game. Last season O’Neil was only 13 points and 6 rebounds his worst as a Pacer. O’Neil is a six time all star and if he comes in healthy will be and good addition to the Toronto Raptors. Bosh and O’Neil combo should be one of the best front courts in the Eastern Conference.
