Atlanta the New Kid on the Block in sports?

Well I asked the question was Atlanta ready for prime time? It seems that I hit a small nerve with the Atlanta faithful. I’m being reminded again about what happen with the Falcons just last year with Mike Vick and Coach Petrino, now look at them they are knocking on the door of a playoff berth. Next the Hawks have been the NBA doormat for at least 4 years and look at them now, Hawks are undefeated this year and will be remembered as the team that gave the Celtics all they could handle on their way to a N.B.A Title. Then move to the N.H.L. (National Hockey League) the Atlanta Thrashers are a possible playoff team as well. The Atlanta Motor Speedway is one of the NASCAR drivers favorite tracks and also one of the fastest on the circuit, Avg. spd (160-180). Then there is the Braves a Major League Baseball favorite amongst fans all over the world. In my own personal travels, I have seen Atlanta Braves Jerseys in some of the most unpredictable places in the world. So is Atlanta the upcoming mecca for sports? or maybe Atlanta is just tired of being everyones whipping boy in sports and demanding their respect with the big boys. Is Atlanta ready for all that comes with that responsibility? The Media, Critics and Sportstalk Shows? The Georgia Bulldogs started the year off at Number 1 in the country in NCAA football and all the world did was wait for the shoe to drop and never really got behind this team as a legitimate contender. In fact the media found more ways for the Bulldogs not to be number 1 and they had not played a game yet. We shall see what happens next for Atlanta when Number 7 is released and people will demand to know what the Falcons will do. Hey if you want to play with the big boys then you have to be able to handle big boy problems. Believe me when I say that Atlanta yours is right around the corner and how you handle it will determine whether if you guys are ready for the BIG STAGE.
