NBA Western Conference Preview !!!

Written on October 28, 2008 – 8:17 am | by Harry Robinson |

  1. Los Angles Lakers- Kobe Bryant who almost reached the mountain top last season will now be stronger than ever with Andrew Bynaum coming back off knee injury and now having a full season with Pau Gasol.  The Lakers look to be the leaders in the West. Red Flag is this team tough enough inside and how good is Andrew Bynaum?
  2. New Orleans Hornets- the sexy pick.  Lead by the best point guard in the NBA Chris Paul and add to that David West and Tyson Chandler this is the team who surprised everyone last season. And now add James Posey who came in from the Champions Boston Celtics.  Red Flag the Hornets will not surprise anyone this season can they handle being the hunted?
  3. San Antonio Spurs- hate it or love it. This team is the most successful NBA team this past decade.  They’ve won 4 titles and the core of this team is still together.  Duncan, Parker and Ginobli. The Spurs will always be a tough match for anyone.  Red Flag has this team seen its best days?
  4. Utah Jazz- home is where the heart is at when comes to the Jazz. The Jazz last season posted a home record of 37-4.  The best in the NBA lead by Deron Williams who may have and argument of being the best PG in the NBA.  Add to Williams is Carlos Boozer great player but a disappointing postseason play. The Jazz once again post a threat to everyone in the West.  Red Flag can they win on the road? Last season they had a record of 17-24.
  5. Phoenix Suns- well they can’t blame D’Antonio no more.  The new head coach Terry Porter will try to get tough with this team.  Steve Kerr the new GM for the Suns has made is mark already on this Suns team.  By getting rid of Shawn Marion,  D’Antonio replacing them with Shaquille O’Neil and new head coach Terry Porter. Steve Nash, Stoudimere and Shaq O’Neil.  Red Flag can the three names I just mention actually come together as a team?
  6. Houston Rockets- my dark horse in the whole Western Conference due to Ron Artest.  The man child who came from Sacramento who will finally make the Rockets think defense first shoot second.  Now check out this three McGrady, Ming and Artest they don’t take a back seat to know one in the West. Red Flag can this team stay healthy? You’re already hearing the McGrady is having issues again.
  7. Portland Trail Blazers- do you believe? All the hype about this team.  You better due to the head coach Nate McMillan took this team to a record of 41-41 last season.  Look for this team to be much better. Brandon Roy, LaMarcus Aldrige and the big man in the middle Greg Oden.  Red Flag can Oden handle an 82 regular game schedule? He will have to for the Trailblazers to have a shot of making the playoffs.
  8. Dallas Mavaricks- there was one time when the Mavricks was the best team in the NBA. But with horrible postseasons and Josh Howard acting like a damn fool off the court and let me add to that Avery Johnson shown the door.  The Mavs seemed to be a team that really doesn’t know where it’s going.  The only reason why this team will make the playoffs this season is due to Dirk Nowitzki.  Nowitzki is still one of the top players in the NBA and he can alone win about 20 games himself during the season.  Red Flag- can Jason Kidd hold up for the whole season at PG?

LOOK FOR ALLEN IVERSON AND CARMELO ANTHONTY BOTH TO BE TRADED OFF THE

DENVER NUGGETS.
