NL Central

Written on August 20, 2008 – 4:52 am | by david |

The Cubs enter into Wednesday with a 6 game lead over Milawuakee and a 8.5 game lead over the Cardinals. The Cubs defeated the Reds 5-0 last night while the Astros beat the Brewers 5-2 and Pittsburg beat the Cards 4-1. The Cubs are 77-48, the Brewers are 72-55 and Cardinals are 70-58. The Cubs have 37 games remaining with a six games left against the Brewers slated for the last two weeks of the season with each team having a three game home stand. The Cardinals also have six games left on schedule with the Cubs also three games on the road and three at home at the end of September. The Cubs also have to deal with Philadelphia and New York Mets before the season is over. The Cubs have a entertaining 37 games remaining on the schedule. Can they hold onto win the NL Central? It will be a long September but I believe that Lou Pinella has set this team up for the long haul.
