Cubs take series from Astros

The bats of Derek Lee and Aramis Ramirez you would think would be leading the Cubbies but there are someother guys that play in their shadows carrying this team. Yes, Alfonso is on the same level of stardom as Lee and Ramirez but its Mark Derosa who yesterday hit his fourth career Grand Slam,Soriano with a three run homer and Jason Marquis helped himself out with an RBI double scoring Fukudome all with two outs as the Cubs scored eight runs in the third inning to blow out the Astros. Jason Marquie went six and a third giving up four earned runs, one home run and struck out three for his seventh win of the season. Ryan Theriot is day to day as he has a foot contusion suffered when he fouled a ball off on to his left foot. Kerry Wood could return as the closer as soon as the next game but may wait one more game as a non closer as the Cubs look to have him for the long run. The Cardinals head to town on Friday for a big three game series.The Cubs still lead the Brewers by five games and St. Louis by five and a half. This series with St Louis is just as impoortant as the one with the Brewers cause both teams could make up ground in the NL Central.
