Rangers win!!!!!! Padilla & Baker pitches a gem.
Although Twins Starter Scott Baker pitched better than Rangers V.Padilla, It was the Rangers Catcher T.Teagarden that broke the 6inning shutout with a homerun. In fact it was the only score of the game as the Rangers win 1-0 without their MVP candidate Josh Hamilton. The story here was the pitching by both Padilla and Baker. Baker struck out 8, and Padilla got 0 K’s. Homerun Derby winner J. Morneau was hitless and was left on base twice in scoring postion and could not score. Padilla got hitters to hit infield ground balls most of the game and relied on Defense to get the win. With the win Texas moves to (51-48) in the AL west. While the Twins fall to (55-43) in the AL central, 1/2 game behind the White Sox.
