Camp Talk NFC EAST

Written on July 31, 2008 – 10:03 pm | by chanceblack |

COWBOYS,EAGLES,GIANTS,REDSKINS will go to war this year for the NFC east title.  You could even say the winner of the East will be in the NFC Championship game.  Oddly enough all the teams in this division have gotten better than last year.  As much as I want to say that the COWBOYS will win the East, that is not a lock by far.

Dallas Cowboys T.O., Pac-man, Tank, and (MAYBE? Chris Henry) makes this a motley crew.  Romo will have to shake off last year and keep Jess in check!!(jus kiddin). This team has more talent than any other team in the NFC.  Will they be able to gel and make the run I think they can make? IF Jerry Jones goes after Henry (please don’t) it would make the 2nd WR question answered.  Then the only question is can Barber handle being the starter?  Can A.Jones & T.Newman & M.Jenkins gel in the secondary? Will Tank Johnson get back to form like he was when he was with the Bears? The LBs are solid. The only team that can hurt the Cowboys are……the Cowboys!!!!!!! Prediction: 12-4 playoffs: Superbowl bound

New York Giants The CHAMPS ARE HERE!!!!!! With the Title comes more problems.  Strahan is gone, Burress is unhappy, and we all know the drill…you win the Superbowl and everyone attemps to break you up.  Credit the G-Men for keeping it real by making sure all those bases were covered. This team was deep enough to withstand losing a few players and they kept the key players in place. Drafting K.Phillips was a steal.  If they can get Burress on board and keep players out of trouble the G-Men are poised and deep enough to repeat.  Prediction: 10-6 playoffs: yes

Philadelphia Eagles This is the enigma of the division. Will they be good or will they be horrible? The Eagles are loaded with talent, but not real deep. D.McNabb has to stay healthy, Westbrook is the key to the Offense.  The Eagles drafted D.Jackson to come in and help the special teams (ala Deven Hester). Jackson can also help D-Mac and R.Brown keep the pressure off Westbrook. On Defense the Eagles have some nice pieces,  A.Samuels was a nice addition. Pair him with L.Sheppard and you have a nice corner tandem. Problem here is depth at all areas the starter goes down and it can be over. Prediction: 10-6 Playoffs: yes

Washington Redskins Call it fate or whatever, but the Skins lost a good Taylor and replaced him with another good Taylor.  This script could not be written in hollywood. New Coach Jim Zorn had a hella draft getting 2 top flight WRs. We may see some 4 wide sets and there aren’t very many teams that could stop it. Jason Campbell will have a field day if the O-line can hold up. C.Portis will have to be effective as well to make the Skins O deadly. Defensively the Skin are full of blue collar guys that will swarm to the football.  The LB corps could be the fatal flaw on this team.  Prediction: 9-7 playoffs: NO
