The Golden State Warriors guard Baron Davis has opted out of his $17.8 million contract owned to him and the Los Angeles Clippers could be calling.  In his final season of his six-year contract, Davis made his decision late yesterday.  He could still sign with the Warriors but the love that he has in L.A. could be more appealing.  He grow up in Southern California and he played for UCLA.  Before Davis opted out it was reported that the Clippers were looking at Sacramento Kings point guard Beno Udrih.

Clippers coach Mike Dunleavy believes that Udirh would be a nice fit but if they were to receive Davis that might bring the Clippers back into the Western Conference.  Clippers have also been looking at Agent 0, Gilbert Arenas but it is unlikely that he would sign with this team since Antawn Jamison just signed a four year, $50 million deal with the Wizards.  Davis had one of his best seasons in the league last year.  The 29-year-old avg. 21.8 pts and 7.6 assists without missing a game.  Other free agents from the Clippers are now Elton Brand and Corey Maggette.
