Big Z defeats Marlins

The Cubbies took game one from the Marlins 11-3 last night. Carlos Zambrono improved to 11-4 on the season as he pitched 7 innings gave up two runs, struckout 6 and got a RBI double and scored the go ahead run going 1for2.Caros Marmol picked up his 4th save on the season. The Cubs kept a 1 game lead over Milawuakee in the NL Central. the Cubs were led by Aramis Ramirez as he went 2 for 4 scoring 2 while Zambrono, Derek Lee, Ronny Cedeno, and Henry Blanco all had one RBI in the game. The Cubs scored 4 runs in the 5th to pull away from the Marlins. The Cubs are the first NL team to 60 wins on the season. The 1995 Braves are the last NL team to win the World Series when getting to 60 wins first. Lou Pinella and the boys throw Ryan Dempster today versus Josh Johnson with the game starting at 2. Kerry Wood as been placed on the 15 day DL with a blister on his right index finger.
