Lakers Move to a Perfect 9-0 at Home Winning Game 3
The Lakers are looking perfect at home with 9-0 in the postseason by avoiding going down 0-3 to the Celtics last night as they pulled out a victory 87-81. Kobe Bryant scored MVP numbers with 36 pts. He had 10 in the fourth quarter and Sasha Vujacic came off the bench with 20 pts. Pau Gasol and Lamar Odom are still finding themselves in trouble during the Finals. Scoring just four and nine points for the Lakers. We will need much more from them if they want to win in this Final series. This is also the first time the Lakers beat the Celtics, counting regular season.
The Celtics lost point guard Rajon Rondo for most of the third quarter and part of the fourth with a left ankle injury. He did not return like Paul Pierce in Game 1 but he did return to the bench for the rest of the game. Ray Allen scored 25 pts to lead the Celtics but Kevin Garnett and Pierce had an awful night. KG had 13 pts and 12 rebounds and Pierce had only six points. The Lakers came out like a team that is down 0-2 and sure the hell didn’t want to make it 0-3 (not at home anyways). Vladimir Radmanovic hit an early three-pointer, and Bryant scored five points on a 9-2 Lakers run to start the game. The Lakers led by as many as 11 pts in the second quarter, but the Celtics soon trimmed that led by the half. Even without Rondo and their offense not playing at its best the Celtics still moved in front with a 15-3 run, turning an eight-point deficit into a four point lead. Lakers’ fans should cheer once again but don’t let this win go to our heads. We still have a big mountain to climb. This is just one game and Game 4 will take place Thursday night in LA.
