Bobcats Take Denver’s 20th Pick
June 26, 2008 |
Tonight as the draft takes place the Dever Nuggets can rest easy tonight because they don’t have to worry about picking anyone for the entire draft. The Nuggets traded their 20th pick to the Charlotte Bobcats on Wednesday in exchange for a future first-round pick. Denver had already traded their second round pick to Seattle. Denver will get Charlotte’s first-round pick next year if the Bobcats make the playoffs. If not Charlotte will keep it. Lets hope that they choose wisely this year. With new head coach Larry Brown and part owner Michael Jordan they may have a slight chance. Because we all know what happen with their 2006 draft pick from Gonzaga. Adam Morrison did not live up to the hype. The Bobcats have had their eye on 7-foot-2 center Roy Hibbert of Georgetown with the 20th pick. He is expected to go late in the first round. The Nuggets look at not having a fisrt-round pick has saving their salary cap from having to pay the luxury tax on a rookie contract. A future first-round pick gives the Nuggets more options in the future trade talks. Lets see what will really happen then with Melo. AM MORRISON
