Peoples Ethical Treatment of Animals *aka* P.E.T.A. is calling for the suspension of the jockey that was riding Eight Belles, the female horse that was euthinised at the end of the Kentucky Derby. I have been hard on P.E.T.A. for the Mike Vick case, this time tho I think PETA’s heart is in the right place, but they are looking at the wrong people. Gabriel Saez the jockey riding Eight Belles has stated he felt nothing wrong with the filly till after the race was over. This is where PETA needs to back off. These guys care about the horses as much as you do. Go after the trainers who have been under fire for the last few years for training these horses for speed instead of stamina and durability. Suspending the jockey is like suspending a NASCAR driver because of engine failure. Watch the race please it is clear that Eight Belles was running strong all the way to the finish. Go after the big fish and quit pickin on the little ones. Your heart is in the right place now go after the right people. Something is wrong with the sport and you need to go after the big brass. This time 2 years ago we were talking about the death of another horse the late great BARBARO, now EIGHT BELLES. Something is not right……..
