Luck Has Nothing To Do With It!! 3-1
For the first time the defending champions lose at home and now face elimination as the Los Angeles Lakers now lead the series 3-1. The Lakers beat the Spurs 93-91 on Tuesday night. Kobe Bryant led the Lakers with 28 points and 10 rebounds. Lamar Odom, who played a very poor game in Game 3 scored 16 pts and Pau Gasol had 10 pts and 10 rebounds.
Tim Duncan, who led the Spurs with 29 pts and 17 rebounds and Brent Barry had 23 pts and his last shot could have gave the Spurs the win. A foul should have been called on the play as Lakers guard Derek Fisher brushed up against him as he took the shot. Spurs coach Gregg Popovich said: “If I was the official I wouldn’t have called that a foul.” The Lakers opened the game on a 22-8 run and never trailed. The Spurs got within 81-79 in the fourth but the Lakers scored seven straight. In the second quarter the Lakers got into foul trouble and the San Antonio made the most of it at the free throw line. In the first half Odaom, Fisher, Jordan Farmar, and Sasha Vujacic all picked up their third. Game 5 is Thursday in L.A.
