Being A Black Manager- Willie Randolph !!!

Willie Randolph is a living legend in New York. Randolph has won championships with the New York Yankees and now is the manager for the New York Mets. Randolph has had sucess with the Mets winning the N.L. East Division but still hasn’t won a championship and with the big time collaspe last season. The Met fans have been giving Randolph a hard time. By booing and asking for Randolph to be fired. Randolph seems to think he is getting treated unfairly due to he is black. Randolph had this to say
“They don’t like me?” Randolph said. “ ‘We don’t like Willie.’ Wait a minute, why don’t you like me? I don’t get it. Did I do anything to you? If you look at what I’ve done for your club, you should like me a little bit.”

…”Well, my players are watching the monitors in the bullpen going, ‘Look at Skip, he’s cursing us out.’ That’s not how I lead. But when the game is over, I’m [on them]. ‘And why don’t you turn over a couple of [food] spreads?’ I’ve done that. You might not know it is racial? Randolph asked. “huh? it smells a little bit.”
“I think it’s very important … that I handle myself in a way that the [African-American managers] coming behind me will get the opportunities, too … .” The Mets are 1 game back of the Marlins in N.L. East they’ve won 2 in a row and is today taking on the Atlanta Braves. Can Randolph become the champion like he was for the other New York team? Only time will tell
