The Hornets won game 1 going away with the play of David West and the career playoff low of Tim Duncan who only scored 5 points.  The Spurs who are known for the big time come back had that set in thier minds as they took on the young Hornets.  The Hornets who have been flying high wanted to take a comanding lead at 2-0 knew it wouldn’t be easy going up against the defending champs the San Antonio Spurs.

The game 2 battle had a good pace with both team playing well at the end of the 1st half it was 43-42 in favor of San Antionio. The third the energy of the Hornets took over as they out scored the Spurs 36-18.  The young and talented Chris Paul had 30 points and 12 assist lead all scores.  The Hornets shot 48% from the floor at 36-75.  In all the Hornets had 4 players in double figures. The Spurs shot 31-73 from the the floor at 42% but the three pointer hurt the Spurs they shot 8-27 at 29%.  Tim Duncan lead the way for the Spurs with 18 but Tony Parker and Manu Ginobli had a combine 24 points as the shot 9-24 from the field.”It’s just frustrating losing. That’s the biggest thing,” Duncan said. “They’ve obviously done an excellent job defensively, frustrating all of us with their double-teaming, with their shifting. … It seems like they come the other way and they’re not missing shots. That stacked on top of each other just makes the whole game very frustrating.”  Game 3 the Spurs will be back home in San Antonio.
