First round Grades picks 11-21

Here are the next 10 picks for us to grade.

11. Bills: CB Leodis McElvin, Troy Bills get an A. This was a definate need here. He is fast and can play now. The bills know they have to stop the Patriots passing game. This is a nice start.

12. Broncos: OT Ryan Clady, Boise State The Broncos get a A here. Wanting to re-establish the run game the get a good OT.

13. Panthers: RB Jonathan Stewart, Oregon The Panthers get a C here. Mendenhall is on the board so is Felix Jones, either one of these 2 guys would have been a better pick. Stewart is a good back, but has injury problems. That’s the last thing the Panthers need.

14. Bears: OT Chris Williams, Vanderbilt The Bears get a B. O-line was a need here. There were other players that the Bears could have got. A QB or RB would have been a better pick. At least they did fill a need.

15. Chiefs: Thru Detroit: OG Branden Albert, Virginia A++ for the Chiefs. Herm is starting to look like a genius. They wheeled and dealed to get back into the first round and got a stud. This guy has played both tackle and guard. He was good at both.

16. Cardinals: CB Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie, Tennessee State The Cards quietly crept up and got the CB they wanted. Moving Rolle to saftey this guy can start at CB. Nice speed and can play both zone and man.

17. Lions: RT Gosder Cherilus, Boston College The Lions get a C here. Oline is a nice safe pick, but the Lions have no RB. Could have had Mendenhall or Jones.

18. Ravens: Thu the Texans: QB Joe Flacco, Delaware The Ravens get a A-. Flacco was listed as the 2nd best QB on the board. The Ravens made the right move to get this guy. He will be the starter this season.

19. Panthers: Thru Eagles: OT Jeff Otah, Pittsburgh The Panthers get an A here. Nice pick to give your QB some protection. Although they took Stewart at RB think it have looked better with Jones or Mendenhall.

20. Buccaneers: CB Aqib Talib, Kansas The Tampa 2 defense just got a Tampa 2 CB. This guy will be a good fit here. He plays this style of defense and has great closing speed and a knack for finding the football. the Bucs get an A+

21. Falcons: Thru Redskins: OT Sam Baker, USC This is still a questionable pick. I know USC has a lot of talent and this will help justify the Matt Ryan pick, But I think the Falcons could have moved up a bit more and got a better O-lineman. Falcons get a B.
