First round Draft pick grades 1-10

The first round went by fast and left me scratching my head as well. We will grade each team later, but for now we will grade just the first 10 picks.

1. Dolphins: OT Jake Long, Michigan I give the Dolphins an ( A). After what we saw Joe Thomas turn the Browns offense around, Jake was the logical pick.

2. Rams: DE Chris Long, Virginia The Rams would get an A, either way. The Rams need all the help they can get at this point. This is a pass rushing machine with a motor and his Dad was not bad either.

3. Falcons: QB Matt Ryan, Boston College Well the Falcons will get a B- here, Dorsey is on the board and will make a instant impact for your team. I understand this pick, i’m just not sure if I agree with it.

4. Raiders: RB Darren McFadden, Arkansas The Raiders get a A. Your young QB needs a playmaker to take the pressure off. They get the best playmaker on the board. McFadden will make the Raiders run game tough to stop. Let’s just hope they can get him in camp soon.

5. Chiefs: DT Glenn Dorsey, LSU Herm Edwards just saved his job and get a A+. This was as big a gift you could have recieved. (thanks to Atlanta). The run defense for the Chiefs has just got better.

6. Jets: DE Vernon Gholston, Ohio State The Jets get an A here. needing some defensive help and getting the best defesive player to some was critical. They would have loved to have got McFadden, but this is also a good pick.

7. Saints: Thru Patriots: DT Sedrick Ellis, USC The Saints get a B here the pick was good, I just think they gave up a bit to get this guy. I think he would have been there at 10. Good pick here tho. the Defense and pass rush will be improved.

8. Jaguars: Thru the Ravens: DE Derrick Harvey, Florida The Jags get a C- here. This guy was not worth everything they gave up to get here. Nice motor and will need some time before he pays dividens. Not a top 10 pick.

9. Bengals: LB Keith Rivers, USC the Bengals get a A-. This guy will be leader in the locker room, most of all he will help this defense. The Bengals got something right.

10. Patriots: Thru Saints: ILB Jerod Mayo, Tennessee The Pats get a A+ here. Can you say SUCKERS!!!!!!!!! The AFC will be so hard to take away from the Pats. This is monster of a LB. Not only did they fill a need, they get a STUD!!!!!!

That is the first 10 and needless to say most teams got what they wanted. Not sure if it was the right picks for some. I guess only time will tell.
