The talk in the off season was Phillip Hughes going to the Twins for the best pitcher in baseball Johan Santana.  GM Brian Cashman says no way we will keep our young pitching and bulid from there.  The Yankess who history is getting rid of young talent and going after the big all star.  Hughes tonight has got a lot pressure on him as a Yankee being the third starter the Yanks have put there faith in the youngster.

The Yankees played the BlueJays in the rubber game tonight at Yankee Stadium and the BlueJays had a two run lead early with the fiesty veteran David Eckstien drove in a run and the stud Alex Rios the RF who now has a 23 game hitting streak Rios drove in a run and the Blue Jays had a 2-0 lead.  In the sixth inning on wild pitch Johnny Damon scored and Giambi sacrifice help tie the game up at 2-2. Bobby Abreu drove in a run in the 8th inning to help give the Yanks a 3-2 lead.  The Yanks turned over to the young stud Joba Chamberlian pitched a scoreless 8th and Mariano Rivera shut the door to help give the Yankees the victory and take the series 2-1.  The Yankees got the Tampa Bay Rays coming into town and for the Blue Jays they got the Red Sox coming in from the home opener.
