My Final Four Prediction

Written on April 4, 2008 – 10:08 pm | by kbarkley |

And yo know I’m gonna be right Snitchesssssss………….

Ok so what if my bracket was torn up two weeks when I predicted that Memphis was gonna lose to Mississippi State in the second round and what ya know they go to the Final Four. Go figure. Then I also predicted that Butler would beat Tennessee. How bout Georgetown coming together as a team and holding on to a 17-point lead against a Davidson team we knew nothing about. NOT!!!!!! Little did we know that Davidson has a special player in young Stephen Curry. Son of NBA sharpshooter Dell Curry, Stephen showed he had a real knack for getting to the hole. All the while being able to be a marksmen from NBA range. Being a 90% free throw shooter is like stealing points for him. On his way to 40 points against Gonzaga, 30 against Georgetown, 35 on Wisconsin, and another 25 against Kansas. Now everyone is talking about his future in the NBA. What I do have still is UCLA winning the whole thing. I only have two of the Final Four right ( North Carolina). Go figure , me this bad……………. it hurts:

Memphis vs UCLA

Joey Dorsey Though Joey Dorsey made ...     Manbeast Kevin Love will lead UCLA ...

The first game of the night might prove to be the best one of the night. Physicality will be the name of this game. Simple put Kevin Love vs Joey Dorsey. Who will be in foul trouble and who could play without either one of them in the game. That edge I would give to Memphis. A deeper team than with better talent should prove to be to much for the Bruins. Then I start thinking about how UCLA plays defense and how they maybe be able to frustrate the Tigers and may lead to a slower pace. Love to me is like Tyler Hansbough. They seem to be untouchable. I can’t remember the last time either was in foul trouble. So the calls may go the Bruins way early. Derick Rose will have to simply be himself and not try to do too much.Chris Douglas -Roberts needs to continue to play tremendous defense and be the high flyer on the wing. Rebounding is a key. The Bruins cannot get pounded on the boards. Darren Collison will have to penetrate and be able to get Westbrook, and Josh Shipp easy baskets early. Collison’s defense will be needed also. Can he be strong enough and fast enough to stay with Rose? With all this in mind I still say some how some way the Bruins pull this one out.

UCLA 67 Memphis 63

North Carolina vs. Kansas

Tyler Hansbrough likes to get tight ...           Kansas G Brandon Rush was arrested ...

Yes all of us in the media will build this as Roy Williams coaching aainst his former team. For me it is as simple as Brandon Rush vs Tyler Hansbrough. Which superstar will do more for their team than the other one. Simple as that. You may say that Tyler Hansbrough is the easist choice I could make.Simle facts are that Hansbrough does so much for his team. Whether they need a rebound or need a shot he seems to give it to them. Rush needs to be that same guy. If he needs to dive on the floor well so be it. “Psycho T” will do it so you need to do it to. Rush needs to have near triple double numbers in all categories. Kansas will really need him. Kansas does possess a bevy of frontcourt men that could wear Hansbrough down. Much like they did to Stephen Curry last week. Who will stop Lawson? That is a good question. My answer is I don’t know. Just don’t let him push it coast to coast for easy baskets.

North Carolina 88 Kansas 72
