The Kansas Jayhawks came into this match up against the North Carolina Tarheels as a No. 1 seed but a lot of experts and your’s truly thought that this Jayhawks team would just be happy to show up and make it to the final four. That was not the case this Jayhawks team prove in this game why we play the game and sports has no script.
The North Carolina in this years NCAA tournament has beat all the team that they went up against by double figures and clearly was the team to beat in the tournament. “We sort of came out a little more casual than we would’ve liked and they hit us right between the eyes,” Williams said. To say the least the Jayhawks at one point in this game was up by 28 in the 1st half and Carolina did not have answer at all by the end of the half the score was 44-27 all Kansas. Carolina double threat came in with a comeback in the 2nd half Hansbrough,Ellington made run and was able to the huge Kansas lead to five with nine minutes left but it took all the steam out of Carolina and Kansas with the outstanding defense on Tyler Hansbrough who went for 17 points and 9 rebounds was just not enough and Hansbrough only took 13 attemps from the floor the Jayhawks wins in a blowout by 18. The Tarheels shot 35 % from the floor while Kansas shot 53%. The Jayhawks will try to bring a championship to the big 12 for the first time since it was establish in 1994 and the Jayhawks also is trying to become National Champions which hasn’t happened since 1988 Danny Manning beat oklahoma 83-79 !!
