The toughest thing to do in any seven game series is to close a team out. The Cavs had a chance tonight to finally get rid of the pain in the neck Washington Wizards. The Wizards who in this series have had flagrant fouls called on them made fun of Lebron James and James has even got music icon Jay z involved with a song called whistle blow where Jay z is making fun of the Washington Wizards DeShawn Stevenson but at the end of the day it’s just plain basketball and the Cavs try to get a win to move on and the Wizards needed a win to get back to Washington for a game 6. Did you hear that? It was Mark Cuban slaming the door in the face of one Avery Johnson. After two disapointing 1st round upsets Avery Johnson is given the door. Johnson is 2-10 on the road 10 straight playoff loses. Now one has to wonder what is Cuban going to do about the rest roster. Kidd 35, Dirk Nowitizki 30 everyone still question his heart. Josh Howard Mr. Big Mouth smoking weed right now since he is no longer playing basketball this dude here never shows up in the big game so not just getting rid of Avery Johnson is the only answer this team needs a whole new make over.

John Smoltz is on the DL list due to a shoulder injury but there is now more to this story. Smoltz who not too long ago was one of the best closers in the game now is stating that he will come out of the bullpen for the Braves. Smoltz saved154 game coming out of the bullpen for the Braves and had a NL record 55 saves. Smoltz is the only baseball player to have 200 wins and a 150 saves Smoltz had this to say
“I won’t rush back,” Smoltz said, according to the newspaper. “I’ll use the best judgment to do what it takes to come back and be successful. The last thing I want to do is bounce back and forth on the DL.
“I will be fine. The team will be fine. And the next time I throw will be because I’m ready.” (more…)

Things got heated during the second quarter of Monday night’s Celtics-Hawks playoff game. It began when Kevin Garnett took offense to being elbowed by Atlanta’s Zaza Pachulia, and Zaza came back by going forehead-to-forehead with KG. A minor scrum ensued, which was mostly quelled by the refs and the two teams’ coaches. Garnett, Pachulia, Joe Johnson and Sam Cassell ended up being called for technicals. Everything got back to normal after that…if “normal” includes Joe Johnson going insane in the fourth quarter, and single-handledly pulling the Hawks even in the series. Earlier today it was released that no one will get suspended for the altercation. That also includes Marvin Williams and Kendrick Perkins who both got up from the bench, but didn’t leave it entirely. The league did the right thing here. I mean David Sterin was in the house that night. I saw it first hand and it was not a brawl, just a bunch of manly pushing and guys jawing at each other. KG clearly didn’t push ref Ed Rush very severely, plus Williams and Perkins only barely left the bench area. No reason to send this series spiraling into controversy the same way last year’s Spurs-Suns series was. Game 5 tonight in Boston.

The Raiders got a hella gift from the Falcons by leaving Dorsey and McFadden on the board. Let’s see what they do.
What the Raiders needed: WR, OL, DL, LB, S
What the Raiders Drafted:
Round 1, Pick 4 (4): Darren McFadden, RB, Arkansas
Round 4, Pick 1 (100) (From Dolphins through Cowboys): Tyvon Branch, CB, Connecticut
Round 4, Pick 26 (125) (From Jaguars through Ravens): Arman Shields, WR, Richmond
Round 6, Pick 3 (169): Trevor Scott, DE, Buffalo
Round 7, Pick 19 (226) (From Vikings through Jets): Chaz Schilens, WR, San Diego State
It is time for Al Davis to step down. Why McFadden when you have a stable of Running backs? Ok if D-Mac was you pick all along why did’nt you make some deals to get more picks? The Raiders did’nt get half of what they needed and did’nt have as many picks. We all know if you have only 4 picks in the draft you draft for need or trade for more picks. Instead the Raiders now have to cut 2 RBs that they could have traded for more picks and you still did’nt get what you needed. McFadden is nice, but was not a need terrible draft for the silver and black
FINAL GRADE: D you didn’t recieve a F because of D-Mac.

The Falcons had a opportunity to strike gold, Dorsey, McFadden, or Ryan. The question was what direction should they go. Lets see!
What the Falcons Needed: QB, TE, OL, DL
What the Falcons Drafted:
Round 1, Pick 3 (3): Matt Ryan, QB, Boston College
Round 1, Pick 21 (21) (From Redskins): Sam Baker, OT, Southern Cal
Round 2, Pick 6 (37): Curtis Lofton, LB, Oklahoma
Round 3, Pick 5 (68): Chevis Jackson, CB, LSU
Round 3, Pick 21 (84) (From Redskins): Harry Douglas, WR, Louisville
Round 3, Pick 35 (98) (Compensatory selection): Thomas DeCoud, FS, California
Round 5, Pick 3 (138): Robert James, OLB, Arizona State
Round 5, Pick 19 (154) (From Redskins): Kroy Biermann, OLB, Montana
Round 6, Pick 6 (172): Thomas Brown, RB, Georgia
Round 7, Pick 5 (212): Wilrey Fontenot, CB, Arizona
Round 7, Pick 25 (232) (From Steelers): Keith Zinger, TE, Duke
Arthur Blank is clearly sending a message to the fans of Atlanta. ” The Mike Vick Era is done”. By drafting Ryan, will now be the face of the franchise. I said it before, I understand the pick just not sure if I agree with it. The Falcons moved back into the first round and got a OT with injury problems. That was not a good choice. I mean you could have got Dustin Keller TE or maybe get a Stronger defensive player. Baker was waste of a first round pick.
FINAL GRADE: C-
